Content-wise, I think the stories only get more satisfying as it continues. Canno's is a good opener and introduces the change of eras along with the ongoing theme of gay women speaking with straight women. Nega's, while the art is a little hard to follow, has stronger yuri themes and, in my opinion, has a more sympathetic protagonist. Kawauchi's is the most satisfying with plenty of nostalgia and happy but bittersweet feelings throughout.
The best word to describe this anthology: hope.
After reading through it, I gotta agree. All three stories go really well alongside each other. As individual oneshots, maybe not all of them are a hit, but side by side they have a really nice flow.
I'm not Japanese and I never understood the era stuff when this hit the news but I think the message of this anthology can still be understood. Growing older, things changing, etc. Really nice. And as always, I'm a fan of nice friendships between gay women and straight women.
