Sometimes I wonder what these age gap relationships would feel like irl.
I'm in my mid-20s and I would probably become celibate rather than date an 18 year old. I don't really understand them and to them I'm practically a geriatric boomer.

But honestly I think people put too much emphasis on generations. Young Zoomers really aren't that much different than Older Millenials or anything. Past a certain point, age really is just a number, and anyone could be compatible with anyone. I have a friend who turned 18 last year, and she's into retro gaming just like me, isn't into Tiktok, has none of those "I don't undestand you" Zoomerisms some people might be geriatric boomers about.

Maybe I'm built different though. I'm 29 years old and I'm over here saying both "oh that's so radical" and "yo that's poggers" in the same conversation.

You need to recheck your calculations. The adult is 32, the girl is 18, that's an age gap of 14.

And well, while I know a couple that has a 16-year age gap, they're fully grown adults (one was 44 and the other 60) which makes it ok.

My best friend was 18 when her spouse was 50. She is a widow now. Never regretted it, and in fact, refuse to re-marry ever again. 32 years old age gap. Beat that!!!

lol so many responses to my comment, ofc there are age gap relationships that work out but being 18 is way different from being in your 20s and above at least in my exp. I prob worded it wrongly but I was more focusing on the one party being barely an adult rather than the age gap between two adults of any age in a relationship, as you said.

At 25 and dating a 37 year old, you got a lot more in common I feel. Yall paying your bills, maybe stressed at work, etc. The average 18 year old is likely preparing to go to college/uni, not got a lot of savings and may or may not be recreating some awful recipe they found on tiktok and setting off the fire alarm at 3am (like my sister). Most probably I'm biased due to the type of 18 year olds I know, because I can be friends with them but I could not date them. It'd be like becoming the poorest sugar mama.

The thing is, the 30yo met this girl when she was 11, it doesn't really say when she started being attracted to her, but just because they waited until she was 18 to do the horizontal mambo doesn't mean she hadn't been interested in her before...
