For some reason, even though the series seems to be pretty well known and well liked, there is very few artworks for Futaribeya, and the vast majority of them are by Yukiko herself. I really don't get it.

(anyway though, Madoka Magica kind of ruined "2 girls lying beside each other in shallow water" for me. Too much flashbacks.)

I never did read the last volume for this series. I need to go ahead and go back to the beginning and read it all.

Girl Friends may not have been the first Yuri work I ever read, but it's easily the one that really kickstarted my desire to read everything Yuri.

Who knows why. Maybe it's because canon ship is only ship so all the hardcore shippers go to other stuff where ships abound?

here's how i think this happened (crack thoughts ahoy!):
- Misaka somehow ends up befriending Junko, perhaps through gekota
- Misaka invites Junko to a gekota festival (or something)
- Junko brings along her GF Misaki.

this results in the art above where Misaki is torn between finding the nearest hole to hide in and making her girlfriend happy on their semi(?)-date as she's dragged around the festival by the two gekota fans.
As to why i think Junko's the girlfriend in this? look at that grade S adults-only handholding they're doing in public.
