^It's pretty much canon, actually. In the LWA game, it's revealed that Hanna saw Amanda in a suit, and has developed a huge crush on who she thinks is a super handsome guy. She eventually finds out that guy was actually Amanda, but continues crushing on her.

That's also part of why fan artists love to show Hanna in a state of gay panic.
And it fits nicely with the rest of her team being in popular pairings (Diana x Akko and Barbara x Lotte), so this way she's not left out.

I tried to Google it, and apparently there was a recent livestream where Studio Trigger said Amanda is from New York. Which I guess explains half of the premise here, but not the Texas part.
