Let's think happy thoughts. They actually got married but in another country that allows same sex marriage. They just couldn't get married in Japan like they wanted to. So their dream of getting married in Japan just couldn't come true.

@Megumiaki there are two animated shows I can name at the top of my head that has cannon lesbian couples in them. Bubbline and KorrAsami are the couples that first come to mind.
There are other ships too but I can't remember them at the moment.
