Even though Cutie Honey Universe was pretty bland, I stuck with it until the end. The last few episodes had some cute Tarantula & Dragon moments.

Aikatsu friends : mostly consistent decent animation, good music, fun/cute/likable/gay girls, AND constant yuri subtext? Perfect idol anime!

Like I said before, its main theme is the bond between pairs. Yeah, the partner cups from OG's s2 but done better imo.
Also, Coco is voiced by Ichigo with a bit of Aoi's personality aka their AI baby so the old fans don't feel too disconnected.

Gay stuff? Let's see: besides everything mentioned above, Mio basically stalks Aine in 4-5 episodes and it's adorable(?). I don't want to spoil episode 11 but it's VERY gay and the only justification we get it's the equivalent to a "no homo", 100% worth a look!
Mirai and Karen = a married couple remind me of Mizuki and Mikuru. Maika and Ema are also very close.

If I really need to point out a negative it would be the endings CG is kinda stiff, pretty distracting 'cuz the song is pretty good.

Holy God, Boobs were Jiggling, Butts were Thicc, There were also flat chests. Animiation was on spot, Plenty of waifus to choose from, Turtles, Sport Knowledge never heard of.. It was glorious.

Jokes aside, I really liked the first episode, the animation was nice and relaxing, and the characters already caught my interest(especially Narumi), and no minutes were wasted on pointless fanservice(i mean, almost the whole episode my dick was hard they were in swimsuits so..).
i'm looking forward to more characters interaction, intense bitchy volley beach volleyball matches ,and sport drama. and also more butts.

I don't know if I like a newbie character in sports manga like Harakana or a monster with issues like Hanebado... But I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I have both at the same time!

Nobody saw it because they choose male MC instead of female and they even went out of their way to show we could get female MC but they killed her off in first episode.

Which is weird because even in japan the female MC is universally the more popular option by far, I guess they just didn't want to show 2 female leads kissing.

No, the thing that put people off is the other questionable decision they did- making a completely new scenario for the anime. Apparently the mindset was that it would cater to both newcomers to the series and viewers familiar with the source material. For the former, it was supposed to pique their interest enough to make them want to play the game or read the manga; while for the latter the all new scenario was supposed to surprise them and intrigue them.

In the end, what happened was that it confused both demographics with all the new stuff that they introduced. Didn't help that they tried to cram all the old world building and new story elements in 10 episodes with only 2 episodes per arc. Shame, since I thought the premise was good but the execution fell behind.

Not to mention, even if you somehow did prefer the male one, you didn't even get him in the anime. Instead you got the edgy boi version of him.

I heard they decided to not just follow game's plot faithfully, which can be seen as a actually good idea as you said above and I heard it being recommended for that exact reason. I had no idea the anime ended up being pretty rushed and not many people liked their approach to the series. Also lol, only 10 episodes? For Fate anime? Wtf?

Yeah, just 10 episodes. There is an upcoming 2 hour special (basically a movie at that point, the hell) that would serve as the end to this series this July 29, although I suspect it was a last minute decision. It kinda points to that since they already had a trailer and a release date for the bluray set for May, but it was suspiciously moved to August after the 2 hour special was announced. It was probably originally supposed to be a 13 episode anime that would end last April but then they saw the general reception and decided to push the release of the last arc to this month and revise how it went, or at least polish it.

In another note WOW! Hanebado really redeemed itself with the second episode while still making things different from the manga, we get to see more sides of the various characters, the coach gained more respect now that we see his skills, the animation is looking really good and the most important part, Nagisa apologies to the whole team and leaves behind that bitchy attitude ... Now, can we focus more on the shy main character please? she's the protagonist right.... ? ALSO!! AWESOME ENDING SONG AND VISUALS

Yuri or not, I look forward to the next episodes!

It does have a Kyoani feel in the animation but I think it might be aniplex... I can't confirm yet because all we have is these short clips and no date or trailer for the anime

Actually I think that's a bit to tame for KyoAni, KyoAni has gotten to the point where even their TV anime is of movie Quality.

It's not KyoAni. It feels like KyoAni because Yukiko Horiguchi is involved in the project. Hopefully, she'll anime the anime, as she seems to be doing it with the shorts, already.
Horiguchi pretty much defined KyoAni style, and they emulate her style until today. But she left KyoAni in 2014.
