You mean erotic?

I think Mochi became more like a meme now, and that's why it's hard for me to like it, while the internet seems to love her (like happens with most meme). I do agree that More Than Friends is her best work, but she's not going back to it. Her humour now is about being cringe and weird, as well as relying on inside jokes, what is fine if you like it, but, eh...

That's even more evident if we compare her works with Tamamusi things, who can make great comedy even on just one page.

How do people get to the conclusion that the story happened to mochi?

I have to agree unfortunately.

So, to but into the Mochi discussion, i think i have a somewhat unique perspective on why i like her. As someone who has been in a relationship with her blood-related sister for....wow, its been close to 8 years, now that i think about it (and still just as in love as on the first day <3) , i really got into Mochi because of her repeated Incest stuff.

Her Incest stuff has no porn, and my favourite story of hers, the two sister dating site one, actually conveys real emotion. I love that one in particular, because a lot of the stuff depicted there happened to us irl. The marriage chapter is pretty much 1-1. ^^

After i finsihed it for the first time i got my sis and we read through all of it together again. And ater that, the rest of Mochis stuff. Her work got me more emotional than any other ive read, and thats why i just cant ever dislike her stuff, haha.

Though i do agree she could stand to make longer story. There are so many pairs i want to read an update on!

Well, thank you for sharing all that. I can appreciate your perspective about this. Although incest isn't a particular interest of mine, I don't have a problem with it either. (You'd never catch me writing an incest story, though...) And I did enjoy Met My Sister. However, my problem is with overall narrative, not specific content.

To illustrate my point, take Mousou Artifact by Takemiya Jin (since that's been uploaded somewhat recently as of this post). I had no awareness of the first part, since it was tucked away in a collection I hadn't looked at. However, I was able to understand and appreciate the manga's story on its own even without the context of the original. Certainly, reading Mix helped me understand the characters better, but Mousou Artifact stands on its own as a great story.
Mochi's sequels don't stand on their own. You just aren't going to really understand them if you haven't read the original story. Like Kingdom Hearts, if Kingdom Hearts was a series of 4-page Twitter manga. It's obviously not fair to compare a relative newcomer like Mochi to a decorated veteran like Jin, but my point still stands. Mochi's currently preferred format is... well, I wouldn't go so far as to say quantity over quality, but certainly volume over substance. It's fine for those who like it, but just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, which is upsetting because I otherwise like the artist's work. If she were to, say, take the two parts of Met My Boss, merge them into one story, and then expand on that story with a unified narrative, I would be delighted. However, it doesn't seem like Mochi has much inclination towards that type of storytelling, and if Mochi thinks she can satisfy people with a stream of short, same-y Twitter manga, she may be less likely to attempt something bigger. Again, this is fine for those who like it. It's just a shame, that's all.

Mochi's stuff is just the same thing over and over, way too short due to their lack of an attention span, and the art is barely a step above stick figures. Why are we all pretending to like it? We're not helping anyone by lowering our standards to this extreme point, we're just enabling laziness.

This begs to be a copypasta.

Mochi Au Lait can draw quite presentably fairly quickly. Her doujins are kind of bloglike in some ways. Some of them are like yonkama. The idea that someone is pretending to like them is odd, as none of us, presumably, are paid to read them :) I like her quirkiness and she does take a few themes and elaborate them.
