I could tell from the look she gave to the main couple, it wasn't a mere look of admiration but awe and longing for a different reality than the one she's surrounded by right now. I feel like that all the time when I see lesbian couples being lovey-dovey.

oh dude lets switch! my body is too feminine for a trans man, you can have it!
im liking this even more. see what representation feels like, they/we exist in this world as well!

gimme gime..

What a joy to read this was, like a slice of strawberry cake on a platter. And the Lots of Sex/NSFW tags were the cream on top. Hope we will see consistently more content with the Holy Tag Trinity in the future.

So what are they crossdressing as? nvm, a reverse cross-dressing tag would be less confusing imo.

I hate the idea of having to say "reverse". Why it's "reverse" ? It's as much as crossdressing as a boy crossdressing a girl.

It's reverse in the sense of how a reverse trap aka a tomboy is the opposite to a trap (femboy). It's also harder to tell when a girl is crossdressing and when they're dressing normally as they have a wider range of clothing options to choose from in general (dresses, skirts, pants, button ups), so it's harder for them to cross a clothing boundary when they can just wear whatever suits them best.

That's why I was confused at first over the question who is crossdressing as whom (boy as girl or girl as boy?), if it wasn't for the Yuri tag I wouldn't have known that the protagonist is actually a girl.

Though I can see how using reverse in the context of crossdressing can be confusing in it's own regard as there is no clear "starting point" that reverse would be referencing. Maybe a tomboy tag would suffice in this case.

So this is where the angel from Helltaker descended from. But in all seriousness hoping we'll get plenty more tags with future chapters, though I'm a bit doubtful the series is willing to go places beyond light-hearted slice-of-life tomfoolery.

The sweetest polyamory storyyet, every chapter was a joy to read.

The whole big happy family ending felt really forced. Can you really call something a positive portrayal of X if i isn't a remotely realistic portrayal? There was like no conflict in this story. I kinda doubt 4 serial monogamists are just going do a 180 and be like "nah this is hella chill" without a decent amount of drama. It would have been a better story if they just switched into couples with the roommates and the adults since the personalities of each of those couples suited each others way better than they're current relationships. Sayaka didn't even seem to particularly like her girlfriend. Idk, I don't mind polyamory but it's at least gotta be a decent story.

Didn't feel forced to me, from what the backstory gave away the older friend couple explored their polyamorous nature in the past but it ended up costing them their former significant others so they didn't wanna repeat the cycle of being unforgiving towards experimentation. The exposition was very sweet imo though could have been given more weight in the form of teasing from the older lovers and the perceived guilt of the 1st-years for "cheating" on their s/os.
All in all it was a short and sweet story arc that definitely deserves a sequel.

Every good series on this website is such an "I wish that was me" mood,
which kind of makes me wonder why straight people would read yuri.

What is it with the smug name-calling? I am trans and what makes you think trans people can't analyze a serious story critically instead of writing one-line trite reviews?

Following your critical analysis apparently you're not trans, just traumatized /s

^^I reread it and I think so too. A lot of it seems to be an everlasting psychological trauma from being exposed to the dad's ridiculous sexism and heteronormativity at a very young age (which continued into the future). It also seemed like Chiaki's body dysphoria (on page 58) is driven by external factors (sexism) rather than internal feelings of discomfort and disconnect.

I'm pretty sure he hates the sexism because it reminds him of his personal problems that he has with his body, not the other way round.

Every cis weirdo thinks they’re a psychoanalyst whenever trans people are concerned I swear

sadly

Im kinda wondering, how much of her motivation stems from being told that "girls cant do that". Its kinda framed like its the driving factor, which would be bullshit.

Well at least I'm not the only one who got that impression. It's internally consistent within the story. Looking at this page, there are hints at Chiaki's condition being more than "just" the result of socialization with utterly inflexible, prescriptive gender roles, though it's pretty safe to assume that tomboyish behaviour (and thus Chiaki's personality) had already been thoroughly judged as inappropriate by the father. Overall, however, the story gave me the impression that Chiaki wouldn't have developed gender dysphoria had "she" been accepted as a tomboy.

Given the way things developed, Chiaki did what he had to in order to have a chance at happiness, regardless of what cause we read into it.

I don't think that explains why he was so disgusted at his period or dreamed of getting his breasts removed though, it's not really a tomboy thing. I think the signs were pretty clear from him reacting to his secondary sex characteristics and sexualfunctions.
