Okay folks, it's time to wrap up the discussion of incest in the real world, at least until such time as the author of the manga chooses to include those issues in the story itself. This has been interesting at times, and I've been happy to give people a chance to discuss, but we've been around and around and around the same ground far too many times and the time has come to let it go. We're 26 pages in, that's more than enough room for everyone to have their say multiple times.

From here on in, please stick to discussing the story and the issues brought up by the author directly.

I expect a few people will still post replies without looking at this post, and I ask everyone else to not respond. If people are persistent I'll consider trimming or removing posts as appropriate, but I'd really rather not do that.

So i have a question then, just to be safe. I think the wording allows it, but i like to always make absolutely sure with mod posts. ^ ^

People have asked me to share my personal perspective on things that are brought up in the manga when it is something that relates to my situation. So if something happens in a new chapter that fits the bill, am i allowed to do that, or should i stay quiet?

Wow I didn't know that incest was legal in so many countries! Glad to know that there are so few cases of it despite that.

Incest is not a threath for society at all, so aside from non-consensual situations, the only argument against it is moral.

And sorry, but saying "it's okay because it's a manga, but in real life is gross" sound like the thing homophobic people say about yuri mangas.

You didn't get my point, did you? What I was talking about in my first post and am afraid of happening if things like this are Encouraged(important word here) is that it will destroy ones family relations and with it the entire family system - the very base of human society. There is no concept of Family in an incest society imo. For daughters, Fathers will be like any other male of the society they can bang and vice versa. The same applies to Mother/son and brother/sister relations. Hence the destruction of [our] society if incest is made acceptable through works like this.

Idk, my sis and i still have a sisterly relationship despite being together. Our basic everyday interaction is not much different from when we grew up, were just a bit more flirty than before. I can see how it would effect Parent/Child relationships, but i can speak from experience that it isnt the case with us at least.

Unless the author specifically said that this was based on a real life couple, I would think of this as a fiction that I would enjoy as a fiction.

But we are able to empathize with fictional characters and they story because we are relate to them as if they were a real persons. If we were continuously aware of them as a fictional characters we wouldn't really care about anything that happens with them.

Thats just one perspective though. Now, granted, it is one that i follow as well, im very big on immersion, but its the exact opposite for some people.

Ive been following a MHA liveblog on tumblr, and one of the asks the guy - who was often complaining about the incredible aggression of a certain character - got was literally "Since when did we start looking at characters like theyre real people?"

For some, the whole idea of treating fiction as anything but is absurd. They mostly like to explore circumstances that are unlikely or impossible to happen in real life through the medium of tightly written stories, well developed worlds, or fleshed out characters.

The biggest example i know of is a certain Danganronpa 2 character. Half the fanbase hates him because he is insane, unlikeable, and pretty vile, the other (obsessively sometimes) love him because he is interesting, mixes things up, and keeps things unpredictable.

Of course there are bound to be exceptions, but thats just my personal experience with these types of people. It depends on your preference.

Whatever twist the author throws at us or try to come up with any logic to justify their relationship, this will always be a wrong in my book. I do not approve of this. This kind of thing if encouraged will destroy our society's structure. Mother/Father, Daughter/Son, Sister/Brother are precious relations; don't sacrifice them at the hands of your lust. Keep them safe cause there is no replacement of/to them.

Enjoying incest is one thing agreeing with it is another. Just because you enjoy it does not necessarily mean you should agree with it too.

Thats fine. No one has to like it. You can be against it. You can plead to others not to do it. Whatever. All i personally have a problem with is suggesting that it should be forbidden by law.

And for it to "destroy our societys structure" it has to be a common problem. I honestly dont think that even if tommorow incest was declared legal absolutely everywhere and morally fine people would just start doing it left and right. Consentual incest is a really uncommon thing, and thats for a reason. The W. Effect is a thing. Even childhood friends who knew each other all their life have trouble hooking up often times. Its just never going to be something thatll be widespread.

So like i said, you can disagree with people like me all you want, as long as you leave us alone. Most of us are fine with keeping our relationship a secret, so we wont "destroy society". We just want to be together with the people we love.

Yeah, im also a bit worried about the husband angle, but ill try to be optimistic. Disregarding that issue, i really liked that chapter. The last page especially, though that depends on if they were kissing there or not. I think itd be a bit more emotional if they were just hugging there, but you cant really see their faces. ^^

Since multiple people asked me to continue to relate my experiences, i guess ill do that when appropiate. I actually cut something out of my last post because i thought i should stop, so ill just repost it now. Its also coincedentally a bit relevant to the current chapter i think. ^^

The thing about living together and having no other place to stay WHILE you are figuring out these feelings is something that is a bit problematic to me. No i mentioned that me and my sister grew up together, but our feelings only really became apparent after (from my perspective at least, she told me she had felt like that for a while, which is actually one of the reasons why) she moved out.

We started dating a bit later, but she was very insistent that i could only move in with her if it was absolutely clear without a doubt that this relationship was going to last. So we waited about three years, during which we were dating pretty much like a regular couple, with occasional sleepovers at most, until we had gone through both very good and very bad times, had fights, made up, etc. I dont think it wouldve been a great idea to try being together while we still both lived with our parents, because there is just no way out should things go bad one way or another.

Especially in this situation. Lets say one of two things happen: Either the mom realizes she really doesnt love her daughter that way and never will, or the mom actually comes around and Asuka finds out that it was just a flight of fancy or something.

In both of these situations, if Asuka was older and had her own place, then once could try to distance themselves for a while, and then slowly work on repairing the platonic relationship bit by bit. Itd take a long time, but itd def be possible. On the other hand, as it is now, this would just make the current living situation unbearable for both parties. Also, couple fighting, as rare as it was, was way more intense in our early days when it actually happened, and i dont think our relationship would have survived if we didnt have seperate living arrangements to cool off and think things through on our own.

So yeah, i rambled way too much this time, ill try to keep this stuff shorter in the future haha.

Yeah, i get what youre saying, and agree for the most part. My opinion was always that we shouldnt glorify it, sexualise it, champion it etc, but in the very rare case that it does happen we simply shouldnt judge people for it, as long as it is consentual. And that was even before my current relationship. ^^

I dont check this site very often and while catching up with the comments here i noticed some people saying how wrong and immoral wincest is and i just wanted to give my opinion on that. I think the discussion had already moved on though, so i apologize once again. Its just a topic that is near and dear to my heart so im often having trouble keeping my mouth shut. ^ ^ Especially when i hear people saying that it should be prosecuted.

Okay, i think i mentioned this in my very first post on a mochi story, but i am a woman who is in a romantic relationship with her sister and we have been for years now. Our lifes are great, we have not been inconvenienced that much (hiding your relationship in that situation is surprsingly simple. No one thinks anything of it when you live together with your sibling.), and we are happier now than we have ever been.

How exactly are we hurting people? Why do we deserve to be charged with a crime and potentially serve jail time? We grew up together, for some reason or another the Westermarck effect didnt work, we have always contributed to society as much as anyone else, why is our love wrong? Should we split up and be miserable? Why? We have just as much right to be together as anyone else.

Its nice to see that there are some people who accept this kinda thing though.

So, to but into the Mochi discussion, i think i have a somewhat unique perspective on why i like her. As someone who has been in a relationship with her blood-related sister for....wow, its been close to 8 years, now that i think about it (and still just as in love as on the first day <3) , i really got into Mochi because of her repeated Incest stuff.

Her Incest stuff has no porn, and my favourite story of hers, the two sister dating site one, actually conveys real emotion. I love that one in particular, because a lot of the stuff depicted there happened to us irl. The marriage chapter is pretty much 1-1. ^^

After i finsihed it for the first time i got my sis and we read through all of it together again. And ater that, the rest of Mochis stuff. Her work got me more emotional than any other ive read, and thats why i just cant ever dislike her stuff, haha.

Though i do agree she could stand to make longer story. There are so many pairs i want to read an update on!
