There's kind of a sad undercurrent running through the whole thing, isn't there? Like we don't know what happened to her mom, the dad seems pretty young and unprepared at times, the neighbour's father was abusive, etc. I keep waiting for drama any moment, despite the cuteness.

I think the contrast is what makes it such a comfortable read, though. The setting is quite clearly 'our' world, and not a fictional place of pure happiness.

It ain't Yotsuba, that's for sure.

He means when ( i'm going to spoiler the end ) the little girl grow up and fall in love with the main character, the man who raised her.
Well, I kind of like that ending, but a lot of people don't tho..

We actually do our own tagging. While Comedy certainly seems to be a possibility - dunno, don't really follow this series much - Adult life is for manga centered around adults, and this being Seinen has no bearing on that.

I rejected the second tag suggestion mostly because of the Adult life tag (someone else rejected it the first time), but I'm not so sure about Comedy either. There are a few humorous moments but there is no focus on humor. The tag doesn't really apply to SoL that occasionally cracks a joke.

I feel for Nami (the neighbor). I like the fact that I can read it peacefully even though I'm quite a pessimist. Having things in my life "not normal" makes it more comfortable.

No, rin and daichi(?) are related, don't remember how.

They started as, strangely enough, kid Aunt and adult Nephew, since Rin was Daikichi's grandfather's daughter, but in the end we learn from Rin's mother that it was a lie, and they're not related.
