I liked the fact it acknowledged there was no need for roles separation in their couple.
They can both be mothers, they can both be knight or princess alternatively. Who cares? Not them.
That this doujin did away with the need of "a man" and "a woman" role definitely saved it from being yet another yuri porn.
I agree. I abhor those kinds of rigid roles, and am always happy to see them discarded in favor of genuine, mutual intimacy and support. It certainly went better than expected; I'd argue the only really unnecessary thing was the sempai.
