There's no sweetener sigh
@Galich so... you like your coffee with sugar?
@Blackkitty not exactly sugar, but artificial sweeteners. Got used to drinking it like that since I make coffee to someone with diabetes all the time. Pure one is also very high on my list.. Actually, any type is good for me. One of very few exceptions when I'm not picky about that sort of stuff.

Wall post coming! (Maybe I should start answering people post by post... not just all in one...?)
@ Miki
With me, people usually are surprised. That's the only fun thing about it ^^
That weird face they make ;)
I like telling them whenever they don't talk positive about homosexuals. Watching them try to right their wrong is quite fun mostly. (^_-)v
@ Utoptia
I'm kinda too embarrassed to really read everything I wrote last night again.
But basically what I couldn't stand about life was the fact that no one ever tells us what it's all about. What all the effort is for... That's what really bugged me.
Of course everyone can always find an answer for their own life but I wanted the universal truth ^^
Nowadays, I don't really think about it anymore. Because even if we would get an answer; what if we wouldn't like it? It still wouldn't satisfy us. So now I'm just trying to make the best out of a situation and try to be happy as much as I can.
When I was younger I had a lot of goals in life but seeing how they just didn't seem to work out, my only goal left if to be happy – or at least to be content – most of the time.
That's something you can work towards every day. Works quite well for me so far ^^
And you do have a hobby – yuri! That's one thing at least ;)
Oh, and watching anime as well...
I used to always think that I wasn't capable to love. Until I fell in love for the first time. Big fail but I never had to ask myself that question ever again (^_-)b
I know it's not the same as not believing in love but maybe you'll find a girl who'll teach you otherwise someday... ^^
@ Neko chan
I don't see a problem with that! ^^
But maybe you were just into the person that held your hand and not into the cross-dressing thing in general. That's also possible...
But reading your posts you sure seem to love maid cafés... ;)
@ ChocolateCakeLover
I meant to say your refreshing and intellectual challenging comments, of course (◦’ںˉ◦)
What have you been up to lately?
Did someone force you to leave the house again? ;)
@ Galich
Every person is different, of course. For me luckily it just was a phase.
I wouldn't be able to live my whole life like that.
I don't know your family so I can't tell but with most people it usually does get a little better as they get older. You just have to find your own way.
Even my friend who's been suffering from depression and panic attacks for more than 10 years stopped being only all negative after some time.
I think I was talking about me being nihilistic, not you... not sure anymore... wrote way too much ^^
That messed up sleep really isn't right. I'm the same – total mess – even without any meds. We need to fix that... It really doesn't make life any better...
But it's been a long time since I last slept for 10 hours straight... T_T
@ Blackkitty
Trust me, your health is more important than staying up all night!
I should have gone to bed at two o'clock as well... but I stayed up till 4:30 and today I feel like shit again... T_T
Not good...
You're such a naughty girl, I knew it!
All of those flowers... they're just a disguise to deceive people! ^^
I'll take you up on that offer for sure! Thanks!
Transparent is not really a lesbian TV show – though there are some in there as well – but I still liked it very much. It's very human. ^^
Although so many gay, bi-curious and transgender people in just one family might be a bit much ;)

@Galich I see^^ you take care of that person. Well, the less sugar, the better. Sugar kills the delicious coffee aroma. I usually take mine either with milk, or just plain black.
Well, I'd normally go a black one as well, but since I'm always the designated coffee maker, out of a force of habit I take what others do.

Met another Russian while travelling. Looks like those Russian lessons came in handy after all. хорошо Галич.
@ Blackkitty
Regarding that performance art thingy:
I don't know what that was all about ^^
Ask my sleep-deprived self from last night ;)
Because the sleep-deprived me from this very moment can't tell... o_O
I just liked how Old Fart backed up some posts with a picture or a video without really saying much. Seemed kinda fun and I thought that maybe we had the real potential for a great performance there ^^ Something really abstract! (°_-)
So avant-garde then?
@Anon
Hey, watch out! Remember - we don't want the zombie collapsed of insomnia!
Me naughty - I wish xD I just admire beauty xD
You are welcome ^^
Haha the more, the merrier! I
So meaning of life... why do you need a general rule?
Love talk... Yes, I fail there xD
Oh, it's not a bad idea, no worries!
@Galich I believe Russians just come to you, maybe it's your destiny?
Faust
Yes, the end of F/0 is bad, everyone dies, has his dream broken, fall into despair. But this is why I liked this show so much. I liked the way it shows all of our efforts are useless, our wishes will never come true and miracle doesn't exist (the graal was a big troll).
When the scenarist is Gen Urobuchi, never expect a happy end lmao. (Anyone said PMMM ?)
Yes, I really liked the duo rider/waver even if Gilgamesh remains my favorite character. The Gilgamesh vs Rider in the 23th ep was just so so great.
I will say it again, Yuki Kajiura is a goddess
(She also made the music of PMMM lmao)
Good pick-up on Saber, her being gay doesn't really surprise me lmao.
I also really liked the debate between saber, rider and gilgamesh on how a King is supposed to he/What is a king.
"A king must live a grander life than any other’s, and stoke his people’s feelings of admiration! He who is worthy of all heroes’ envy, and he who leads their way, is king! Therefore, the king is not alone. For his will equals that of all his followers together!"
"To win, but not destroy… To conquer, but not humiliate… That is what true conquest is!"
And my favorite quote (All hail Gilgamesh)
"Why must you insist on defining joy so narrowly? Where is the paradox in finding suffering and tragedy but other forms of pleasure? There is no one fixed type of joy. Your confusion derives from your failure to understand that."
If you liked F/0, you should definitely watch UBW, it really is happier and less tragic.

It is possible, I'm partly Russian. Curious to see why so many of them come over to Poland tho.
@Galich maybe there aren't that many, you probably attract them being a rusofil^^ plus you are all warm welcoming people, not cynical at all xD
@Utoptia Yuki Kajiura is a goddess!
@Blackkitty Well, I'm trying to mix both :P A bit of balance is needed in life.
Well, it is truth that I'm a russophile.

This might be of relevant interest to you, it's the 1st take cut of the final act. I find that the dub version was more in vein with this version than the final film version.
I've actually seen that before. It's interesting how subtle many of the changes between it and the final version actually are. And I think you're more or less right. Though I think some of the intonation and, especially, Homura's giggles sound really off compared to either the final subbed version or the dub.
Reading all of your post, It makes me really want to write a lot, but everything I'd want to write is already on the best review on this film I've read. It really is a shame that it's not in english. It highlights how deep, philosphical, psychological, beautiful, well-written and complex the show and the movie are. I'm linking it again in the case some of you would be (really) interested.
Google Translate isn't wanting to cooperate with me right now so unfortunately I can't read it.
Yeah, it has a really decent music. Always feels quite fitting.
Also one other thing that's always bothered me with peoples' complaints abut Rebellion: The majority of the people I see saying they dislike it tend to frequently complain that it was completely unexpected and an illogical turn. I strongly disagree. As we'd already discussed earlier the end of the series was a horrible ending for Homura. So it's only logical that she would end up in a worse mental state. And on top of that the series has consistently shown that reality tries to mend itself when a wish is made. Madoka's wish made her a god. So reality tried to mend itself with an equal and opposite reaction: Homura ended up basically becoming the in-universe equivalent to Satan. It's an imperfect end since Madoka's wish was so powerful that it can't simply be totally revoked but Homura's new powers put her in a position to bring better balance to reality on top of finally being able to accomplish her own wish (which she started suppressing at the end of the series to respect Madoka's wish because she saw no better solution to the situation herself and which she stopped suppressing during Rebellion) and saving Madoka as well as fulfilling her promise to Madoka to stop her from becoming a magical girl.
Really difficult to not go all out and write pages of stuff about my thoughts on the series and movie, lol. Shortly after one of my friends got me the special edition bluray for my last birthday they ended up having to listen to me ramble on about it for hours afterwards on Steam. Speaking of which: Did you know there's a character limit for Steam messages? I managed to hit it. Multiple times in a row.
I usually hit the Steam character limit when I spam my friends with a wall of emotes.

Yes, google translate kind of suxx, but it worked for me. I translated some part of the review with it, so even if it is sometimes inaccurate and google tr is dumb, the whole thing is still understandable. (I still corrected the biggest error it made)
BIG POST AHEAD.

Finally, this film appears to be a natural continuation of the TV series , and is not a purely marketing pursuit of commercial purposes only . There are chances that the scenario of Madoka Rebellion was thought upstream from the creation of the initial project , which gives it the greatest possible accuracy . Hypothesis can be corroborated by a statement by Gen Urobuchi , advancing relatively early hold specific leads to where direct the series, if success allowed to extend .

One of the moments when everything changes from an intellectual point of view, is none other than the reference to Freud's repetition compulsion, in the first "Fort Da" that sound. The need to repeat after failure. It is precisely this that applies to Homura, further repetition of his travels in time in the series, which adds more and more destiny bonds on Madoka's fate, looking after impairment of memory to find a truth she had yet leaked, creating its own self-insulated world where she lived happily (although upstream, she might have considered corrupting her Soul Gem to return Madoka). This also raises the paradox between the obsession of the search of the truth, and his desire to forget it once it's discovered. Also in the Freudian dimension, one finds the image of the coil during the evolution of the Soul Gem Homura, as the "baby" for the pet accompanying Mami. This is a reference to the grand-son of Freud, who was playing with a coil, a dolly, and pronounced "baby" at the return of her mother, through which Freud developed this theory.

There is in my opinion the prevalence of the status quo , as the series has always sought to do with this idea of balance between hope and despair , the game between light and shadow , omnipresent even during the serie, and crystallized through that mid- light and mid- dark moon that we see at the end. When homura gives back the ribbon to madoka,, accept the answer of her previous question, and the cohabitation of the Order with the Desire. This cohabitation is enshrined in the universal balance , and underlies the tensions inherent in each of us . Madoka and Homura represent the two sides of the same coin , the " movements " of humanity. Homura and Madoka also acquired something like a divine rank ( God - Devil - Yin - Yang - Order - Desire etc ...). The conclusion is thus seeks to highlight a lack of Manichaeism , nothing is all white or all black.
4
The scene where Homura grabs madoka who was coming to save her
The transition to adulthood happen . In pain , in a scene reminding of the final scene of " The End of Evangelion " : rape. Symbolic , certainly, like in End of Evangelion , but still rape , reflecting the fact that the character in accordance with the symbolism of the witch, is an adult, with the desires and frustrations that comes with.
"Stop, you'll tear me ! "
As the movie continues, and the growing despair, we understand that this time, nothing will stop it. It's an endless flow of despair whereof you can't escape, just like Homura's closed world. Suffer is an unstoppable cycle .And Puella magi madoka magica sinks into nothingness; they all become adult, and dreams die.
.
There would be so many other things to say, but to be honest, the information flow is such , and the omnipresent symbolic , both visually and in concepts, as I could illustrate far as it would be bery hard to deepen the analysis more , so much that it would be tedious. Many scenes could be peeled one by one ( Homura and pumpkin referring to the legend of Jack O'Lantern , transformations, those in the field of flowers in the meadow, the confrontation between Kyubey and Homura etc.) , and anything that may seem like a random or a cryptic detail is actually the consequence of a carefully thought job of staging , with a specific purpose.
And all of this is still nothing compared to everything that could be said on Rebellion. If it is hated by a big part of the fanbase, it is because it is really hard to fully understand (if that's even possible). Its depth, its beauty, its symbolism make Rebellion, along with PMMM, one of the greatest anime, serie and even piece of art.

Thanks. Google Translate just randomly breaks for me for some reason. It's rather obnoxious at times, lol.
There is in my opinion the prevalence of the status quo , as the series has always sought to do with this idea of balance between hope and despair , the game between light and shadow , omnipresent even during the serie, and crystallized through that mid- light and mid- dark moon that we see at the end. In my personal opinion the god/devil and yin/yang comparisons are actually somewhat inaccurate. To most people they imply morality when neither Homura nor Madoka are actually acting immorally. All of Homura's actions that might seem immoral do make sense in context. Ie: Her trying to kill Sayaka in the series. It's completely logical and not really immoral. She realizes that Sayaka is going to become a witch no matter what she does. From a pragmatic standpoint it makes sense to take her out before she does become a witch since it's easier and endangers fewer people. And by taking her out before she can become a witch then she won't be able to go on a rampage and endanger or even kill innocent people. When you examine things like that it's not really immoral at all and shows more foresight than anything.
If it is hated by a big part of the fanbase, it is because it is really hard to fully understand (if that's even possible).
A lot of people have issues with it because they don't look into things as deeply as they really should and then are reluctant to consider that their original view might actually be wrong. It's annoying but it's human nature. It's also a good idea to keep in mind that a lot of people who are heavily into anime tend to be people who are known for struggling with compassion and empathy. (And empathy is something that can't really be learned. You either have it or you don't. As opposed to sympathy which is something based in your own personal experiences.) And most people haven't gone through anything remotely as awful as what Homura's been through so they simply can't understand her.
@Anon99 yeah XD I really am obsessed with maid cafes, but I think most will understand me when they come to one ahahahah , well at least I'm with my big brother so I'm never alone cos I feel like that would be awkward somehow =~=...also yeah....I think I might be in love O//-//O but like, they are a cross dresser so I feel like I have no chance with them
@ ChocolateCakeLover
I meant to say your refreshing and intellectual challenging comments, of course (◦’ںˉ◦)
What have you been up to lately?
Did someone force you to leave the house again? ;)
One day my comments will be published in a scientific journal I'm sure :o
I've been lazy on the internet D:
Except for going to see Suicide Squad
@CCL It's an omen.
Also, the fact that I refused to get myself a chocolate cake yesterday.
Inspired by Arumba's campaign, decided to play Tunis. And I swear to god, I'm never gonna play this game every again which means I'll play it in less than a day.
I'm loving Tunisian Thievery, but I've not watched an ep in a few days D:
@CCL Well, it is probably his best series.. huge fails on the macro side, micro on the other hand was great, even for Arumba himself.
@Neko chan I can see why you would consider yourself to be English. Not that there's anything wrong with being Russian tho.
Which macro fails are you talking about? I think his biggest and most fatal failure where I'm on (still early on fighting kebab) is not managing his claims on Morocco better so he could declare while kebab was getting removed via Hungary.

Well, he gets a coalition war plus another war on Morocco.. so what does he do? Declare a war on Mamluks.
Well, you're a still loong way then. Let's just say that he declares a war on Morocco, has a coalition war and after that.. he declares another war on Mamluks.
Plus that fort in Chios? With how straits work like in 1.17, he could've just put some ships and block it, winning the game of ticking war score.
Trust me, that run gets really messy later on. Read on his twitter that that gaming session took 16 hours, and it shows after a few episodes of him fighting the first Ottoman war.
Made Tunisian Thievery much more fun tho., plus I can relate to Arumba's ridiculous number of micromanagement.
Feel free to correct me once you've caught up to like episode 35, I am curious to see if I'm the only one who was scratching head at some decisions.
Now that's off-topic, even for this thread's standards.
