In a recent online poll sponsored by Akiba Souken’s “Anime Portal” website, Japanese fans were asked to vote for their favorite yuri anime - anime that features an often-romanticized same-sex attraction between young ladies.

The poll ran from February 01 - February 29, 2016, and fans were allowed to pick their top 3 choices from a list of 20 candidates. The top ten results were as follows:

Yes!! Sakura Trick and Yuru Yuri as the top two. This pleases me.

YuruYuri being at the top makes me really happy. I'm not surprised tho, apparently, in a poll for jap viewers about the fall season anime, YuruYuri was the top anime of all that were airing too :D
Altho it makes me wonder if out of the yuri anime, it's popular because it's hilarious good, rather than the voters actually being yuri fans, idk, as it seems possibly popular with japanese viewers in general
Surprised to see Koukaku no Pandora up there, but hey that means that anichart should def tag it as yuri, if a japanese site included it in its list of yuri anime to vote from

Yuru Yuri is a fun anime to watch, but I wouldn't consider it the best yuri anime. Also a lot of non-yuri anime that have given the best yuri ships were not there at all, although I understand why.
Going solely by this, am I supposed to think Sakura Trick or Yuru Yuri couples are better from, let's say Shiznat?

Yuru Yuri might not be the best yuri anime, but it's almost definitely the best anime with yuri.
