I also hope they don't get interrupted. I mean, I usually don't mind slow paced stories providing they end up getting somewhere. But lately it has been all about "will they or won't they" and some fluffy scenes. I think FF, Their story and some other titles are better in these aspects. I got interested in WTFS because of its potential in mature drama in the first place. So I hope these last chapters were building the tension for a climax in the next one. And I also hope some heavy drama will happen to test Sumin x Sungji relationship. I see they will probably be the end game, so I want them to build more consistency there (I think it lacks maturity somehow). At least then I will be able to admit clear defeat as a member of team pink lol.

Sumin would be such an arse if she stops half-way after going that far.

couldn't agree more

Sumin is really being loving and sweet in bed. I am glad Sungji is going to have a wonderful first-time. I also think they would not stop because Sumin has already gone down on Sungji. That means they've done it from my view. No point in stopping.

After weeks of seeing Sungji bluebeaned(equiv to blue balled) by Sumin, I am happy to say Sungji's finally getting it in with no interruptions(home run!). I have to say it was a somewhat satisfying chapter,(and it's just the beginning:).

On a random note, I really adore the scenes where Sumin and Sungji are hardcore making out in Sumin's office ( chpt 23 and the chpt in Jeju). I prefer the sensual nature of Sumin and Sungji's relationship atm and how in essence, all of the previous chapters of them getting a feel of each other have basically led to them getting it in

Maybe it's because I'm so impressed with FF's style and character development that nearly everything pales in comparison atm lol but I would honestly like to know more about Sungji and her motivations as I want to believe that there is more to her than her looks and that Sumin's her first love:

I've always had an inkling that opposed to what many may think about her (coming off as a 1D character), I think that there is so much more to her personality and perhaps to why she comes off that way as boring or w.e. . Yes she had flashbacks about how her peers hated on her as a kid (or w.e), and then having both men and women confessing and then being rejected by her on countless occasions. But I don't think those flashbacks have done a great job in revealing her motivations in forming relationships with others (specifically Sumin).

Sungji seems to be a kind hearted, observant introvert to me but and has problems(initially) relating to others because people perhaps project their insecurities onto her (because of her pretty appearance) which makes it hard for her to get really close to others (her own friends don't seem to know much about her!).

Also, unlike the majority of women who Sumin banged, Sungji kind of doesn't give many hoots about how others would react to her being in a relationship with Sumin (which is pretty badass given the view of homosexuality in Korea). Ultimately, I just want to get more of an understanding for how she feels and thinks, and how past events have played a roll in her actions and her upfront/ honest nature.

tldr:satisfying chapter and I can't wait for the Sungji arc!!

One and only possible interruption at this moment is a phone call from Seju. I believe the showing up Seju's father's condition must play something.

Really enjoy how accommodating Sumin is with all of Sungji's "firsts". After looking at the Korean version I was concerned neither of them was considerate of the shithole they're in, but Sumim at least wants it to be somewhere with a better ... ambience ... at first. And when she offers to put her shirt back on so that Sungji can take it off mwahahahahaha

Edit: sorry if this is too spoiler-y :\ I don't know how to put in the black bars and stuff

Why is it only now that I realize, that throughout the entire story of WDTFS not a single speck of depth or even noticeable character development has been added to Sungji, and that is the reason why I feel so disappointed with chapter 42...or with the Sumin/Sungji pairing in general.

I mean, seriously...What do we know about Sungji? She's pretty, she's childish, she's a lesbian, she's a virgin, has a few friends and lives with her siblings. Gaji hasn't even really scratched the surface of her character at all, which, I'm pretty sure, is the reason why until now, I just can't convince myself to really care about "Team Blonde." Until now, Sungji just doesn't seem a lot more meaningful than those other flings Sumin had. :/ I like her, I think she's cute and I sure love seeing the effect she has on Sumin. I just hope we'll get to see a lot more about her in future chapters, otherwise this just wouldn't feel right to me...Sumin's character basically being an entire book while Sungji's isn't even a whole page.

I also have issues regarding Sungji development. Don't get me wrong, I like her. She's adorable. But that's it. We don't see a crack in her shield, not a single imperfection. Sumin, Seju and Nam are all messed up someway, so it feels easier to connect with them.

I understand that Sungji being kind and strong makes the perfect character to heal Sumin. And she's definitely being successful. As some people pointed out, Sumin began to enjoy the simple things again. So I like Sumin/Sungji interaction because of its effect on Sumin. But I just don't feel the thrill to ship them, since I need to see something awfully human in Sungji - guilty, selfishness, anything really.

Why does Sungji call Sumin team leader when they are getting down and dirty. Seriously, call your women by her name, yes she is older then you but she is going down on you. It pisses me off when she's like Team leader at the end. Really, call her Sumin-san or whatever the Korean equivalent there is but not FUCKING Team Leader. Rant over.

+1, Thank you.
This has been bothering me for a while now. Also with Sumin continuing to call Sungji "Sungji-ssi" which basically means "Miss Sungji". In my book, you start calling the person you like by their first name at the latest after you've went out for the first time, but mostly much earlier. But maybe it's just a western custom to throw politeness over board when you're dating a person. I mean, Sumin is Sungji's boss, after all. And remember Nagisa, for example? She called Shizuma "-sama" until the very end, even though they've basically been on a vacation together, almost did teh sexey stuffs and Shizuma crashed Nagisa's wedding etoile election ceremony -shrugs- Asia. Where not choosing the correct honorific is seemingly as offensive as showing your d*ck in public. ... Probably.

I think the Korean honorific matter has been discussed here some pages ago. or maybe in the FF thread, I forgot. But what I remember is that they will still be using honorifics, until they finally tie the knot (please do correct me if I'm wrong). So they can go as far fucking, but they will still be using honorifics after. So Sungji will still be calling Sumin Team Leader after this.

Asia. Where not choosing the correct honorific is seemingly as offensive as showing your d*ck in public. ... Probably.

This is somewhat true actually. Using the wrong honorifics can be considered as rude.Maybe honorifics is not something that is considered important in western countries, but it is in Asian countries.

I think it's a personal choice from the authors. It is true that in Asia using honorifics is very important, especially compared to West, but after some point they can drop it.
Just look at the rest of the shows. Both Japanese and Korean. After some point they start using the first names.
And since Sumin and Sungji are dating, i think they could drop it too.

Maybe this is happening for two reasons. One, that even if they're dating, they're still not completely close, or two Gaji think that Sungji calling Sumin "Team Leader" is sexy. You know, just like these office relationships that the woman calls the man Mr. or something to make it look more appealing.
Judging by the writing style, I think this is more possible.

I could be really wrong though, but from FF, is the -A and -Rae honorifics too?

No, that's their name Seol-A or Seola, and No-rae or Noh-rae.

So if they don't use honorifics in FF, that must apply to the rest of the Korea too right? Of course they stop using it after becoming friends or close with each other at least. But not going as far as dropping it only after they marry each other. At least this is what it seems to me, but I could be wrong.
I always had a feeling they're using this to make Sungi and Sumin relationship look more sexy though.

MacySan & Martian

Okay, so I just called my brother, who had spent a year in Korea and asked him about it. He says that in Korea, there are basically 4 different levels of politeness, ranging from rude to informal to "street formal" to "business formal." He says that if two people, who know each other from business and then began a personal relationship with one another (friendship, dating) will usually still not just start calling each other by an informal title or name as long as they are still working in the same business together. Apparently, it's one of the many ways of showing respect and proving your own manners. Exceptions are when (1) those two people either get married or (2) get each other's permission to use informal names (first names, nicknames). Even then, in case of (2), it still sometimes happens, that people will insist on adding formal honorifics to informal names in order to show their respect.

He also said that adding "-a" and "-ya", when used among friends or people of around the same age, are just informal ways of showing that you're close. When "-a" is used by two lovers though, and if it's used in combination with the first name, it's a term of endearment. (So when Seju called Sumin "Sumin-a", she probably called her something like "dear" or "darling" or something along the lines of that)

He didn't know what "-rae" was though. Said in the region where he was, he never heard it used anywhere. He said it could be a term used only in a specific dialect. o.o

They don't use honorifics because they are the same age, same status. If they are not, they will be using honorifics. Like how No-rae calls Sung-pyo "Sung-pyo oppa", in japanese it's equivalent to "Senpai", i think. No-rae and Sung-pyo's relationship went as far as Sungji and Sumin but she till calls Sung-pyo with "oppa". If I'm not mistaken, in Korea, it's rude to call someone older than you or more superior than you by their name alone without honorifics. Like in japanese you don't call a person by their first name unless you're close. I don't know much about Korean honorifics, but I think Halmoni did explain it here somewhere.

Suzuma
Thank you for sharing the information! The A in Seol-A is a part of her name though, it's not a honorific, same as "-Rae" in No-Rae. That explains why your brother haven't heard of such honorifics xD

If they are using "Team Leader" to make the relationship look sexier then I have to say it’s really not working for me. Sungji says Team Leader all the time if she saved it for the bedroom then that’s understandable but she says it when they discuss casual things. It lessens the impact when she uses it all the time and frustrates the hell out of me.

On a side note I love how when Summin turns the TV on there is porn on the screen, that made me laugh. All TV has to offer this day is cheap porn.
