I think it's because there aren't any male characters in the story. While there are background figures, you can't really include them as all they do is provide scenery.

it really is a pain when you have been working for hours and poof PC is off, vanished... effort gone.

happens quite frequently for me since the city I live on has a shitty power company with frequent dips in power surge and hours of blackouts every week.

I'm not picking up on it and there's something deep inside of me aching for it to have something to do with Rin
I mean the context seems to imply so but the language makes it unclear

Doubt it, or at least it wasn't the plug to Aoba's computer or we would have seen her mad/annoyed on that last pannel instead of just doing her work as usual.
