Beautiful conclusion to a wonderful anthology, thank you so much for translating it! I love how it tied all the stories together in the end.

I get the idea and I think the one-shot is beautiful. But the grandma story takes more part of the one-shot, and the point is to see Heisei era. Even if the idea of Heisei era girls looking at the past is a good final for the anthology. I would have preferred if they actually showed modern oppression instead of past one to say the present is better.

I understand where you're coming from, but we get lots of Reiwa-era (which is what you meant instead of Heisei) yuri stories of all kinds these days. I like that this story was used to talk about the connection between yuri of the past and present, and how much change there is to celebrate even amidst the uncertainty of this era. It felt fitting for the capstone on a period piece anthology.

So beautiful. It reminded me a lot of The Sad Story of Emily Burns, which had pretty much the same message.

I mean... can you expect anything less than a masterpiece from Shinoa?
And thus concludes the Eras Yuri Anthology.

i felt like the modern couple's dynamic was a little weak tbh, and if they had more going on it would've sold it better. as-is it feels like their relationship is just all off screen

I agree. I definitely think that this could have been longer since it's balancing two couples: Miku and Ayase, and Kiyoko and Ryoko.

It might be just a coincidence, but Kiyo's name seems to be the same as Hana's younger sister in One Piece of Youth(although in this case, it's a nickname for Kiyoko). It's mentioned in One Piece of Youth that Kiyo got a letter from an older girl and is feeling troubled over it. If Ryoko's older than Kiyo, it could explain why she calls Kiyo casually with "Kiyo-chan," while Kiyo refers to her with the more formal "Ryoko-san."

Is it just me, or do the straps of Ayase's overalls hook up in both the front and the back, as you can see Ayase from behind on the last page?

I concur, and specifically I feel like the ability to look into the past and see it through queer eyes is, inherently, a part of this era. It's only so recently that this sort of historical analysis has begun to be accepted, supported, propagated, taught... it's only so recently that so many of us have been able to look back and say, "there's someone like us." In what other era could you see a couple like this doing this sort of investigation for this reason? None. It's the freedom we've found in this one.
This is the soul of the Eras Anthology—there have always been others like us, even when we couldn't see them. And I think this was a perfect ending to remind us of just how precious the ability to see that now is.
