Whenever I see Itou Hachi, I'm ready to clutch my heart and keel over.

That was very sweet. Its rare for manga or anime to have any disability theme it seems - at least I can only think of a few.

The author should of had her put her hand on the piano though, so she could feel the music.

The fluff ... it's too much... i love it, the only thing i'd like to see from this author is a little bit more yuri instead of subtext, for it seems a little platonic for the yuri tag.

This was nice. It reminded me a little of Koe No Katachi, which, while awesome in it's own right would have been improved with the addition of yuri.

as for this work it was absolutely beautiful, and any doujin that deals with disabilities I will end up loving.

Koe No Katachi

Story of a guy who bullies a deaf girl in middle-school and ends up being bullied himself after she transfers out of school.

Years later, on the verge of suicide, he tries to redeem himself by meeting her and trying to make friend with her before killing himself. It was a oneshot then became a series. In the series, a whole crew of people from the same middle-school reunite and the past comes back with a vengeance. Drama and romances ensues.

It's a touching story really. Can't say I found the ending very satisfying though. A nice ending, but not conclusive.

It's the miracle power of "Everything must end well in 37 pages quota".

What do you mean, instantly? She read a book on that, and next morning was able to use simple signs. It was a book for beginners also, so quick learning is understandable. After that we don't know how much time passed between each shown interaction. People can learn the basics of entirely foreign language in.2 weeks and start talking, then it's just a question of word base.
Additionally, Takako seems to be legally deaf, not completely deaf.
