Edit: To be honest... their dynamic was actually pretty cute! Despite the fact they were planning to jump off a building together, they manage to find comfort and a sense of community in each other, an escape from the shitty reality of their lives.

Simple and cute, but an overall shallow exploration of heavy topics. Feels more like a blue print or perhaps a sketch then a stand alone story. Looking briefly at the rest of this artists work its mostly fluffier stuff. Perhaps there will be something with more bite next time.

its very Kodama Naoko, stunning art, fairly shallow and on the nose melodrama with vague allusions to societal ills with a really kitsch high concept theme. Genuinely if she just handled art and the general themes of her manga, and handed off writing dialogue and characterization to someone else, she might make a masterpiece.
She's still got it. She's never heard the word subtlety in her life. This all sounds very negative but to be clear I would die for her.

We added the rape tag to be safe because of Rinon's comment on p29 about her mother's boyfriend "coming into her room at night."

While it's not explicitly stated, it's implied that he either assaults or, at the very least, has previously attempted to assault her, thus her not wanting to go home anymore and wanting to save up money suddenly to move out. So since there's no implied sexual assault tag, we just went with rape to be safe even if nothing is explicitly shown.

We felt it was best to just tag it than not and have someone not expecting the sudden SA mention to be caught off guard.

As for the other work in the collection, that was done by a different scanlator group a while ago and was packaged into the one-shot collection that Kodama Naoko just released. If you think it should be given different tags, you can utilize the "suggest tag changes" option on that work and it will be reviewed!
