Mostly looking for yuri action, but whenever I look into Flowers it just seems rather... unsatisfying onee-sama stuff, lol.

Anyone knows how far the yuri goes? kissing? handholding? via dialogue only?

Here's the CG from that page on you can check. It's all-ages so no explicit nudity. There's kissing.

And if you had googled the vn, you would have seen kissing and handholding pics from it as well. :)

If there's a different endings and such, then it's more of a dating sim... Unless Japan is just using vn as an umbrella term now days.

The main distinction tends to be that "visual novel" refers to any game in which the only player input, and the only way the player can affect the story, is to decide between set choices at very specific points. No matter how many of them there are or how many branches they lead to. Because at its base it is still essentially a choose-your-own-adventure novel.

Meanwhile, "dating sim" refers to things where you have freedom of action and movement between areas, and are able to influence things like what characters you interact with at what specific times. They often also include things such as stats to train up. Famous examples include Amagami and Tokimeki Memorial.

I never play games like that, but I guess I'll try it. Only because its yuri and I hope there will be good scenes.

There's more than 7 endings and most of them are 'bad endings'. Add to that there are a lot of choices and it gets fun xD

As always, Kotaku being stupid at reporting shit.

This game got released uncensored in Steam solely because there is no genitalia, read: no explicit sex. Of course Kotaku's "journalists" take every opportunity they have to shit on Hatred and point out how f̶e̶m̶i̶n̶i̶s̶m̶ games with LGBTHDUFKNAK themes are winning and also getting the permission to be released on Steam, totally uncensored! Yeah, except that games without explicit sex scenes have been able to get a release in Steam since forever, meaning that an H Hanabira game would be censored if it ever was to get released on Steam because it contains pixelated vaginas, not because of lesbians, like these piece of shit Kotaku pseudo-journalists want to make people believe.

Tell us how you really feel, Dashuand!

Endless Summer is a Russian dating-sim, sadly not yuri, but that got censored and contained only nudity (i might be misremebering).

So i think it might also depend on the country of origin too... but I dunno.

Multiple persons moderate the games submitted to Steam, so clashing opinions could've happened. If the game had a nude loli somewhere through it that could also have been the reason for its censure.

Just fucking E-mail gabeN if you want an explanation of why his team is filled with shitters of multiple opinions and double standards.

I heard a lot of good things about Okujou no Yurirei-san. It's very popular in Japan. Even got two volumes of spin-off manga (run in Hirari, by Itou Hachi) and drama cd.

About the upcoming steam release. I saw the CGI and yep, the sex is soft, but it's there, it's on screen and you can hear all moanings and dialogues. I'm happy we will get uncut version on steam. Anyway, this and SonoHana is a must buy for me.

The mangaka for all that adorable fox girls and that one school one that hasn't gotten here? Oh man, I'm interested to see what is written, and if it's NSFW. I also have (links for) the Drama CDs for anyone interested.

Now my greatest hope is that either Yuri-ism or one of the other frequent scanlators start translating it.

The manga is SFW. You can read reviews of both volumes on okazu (SIDE A and SIDE B). If you want to see how it looks, I found chinese scans on dm5 (SIDE A and SIDE B).

This really makes me hate myself for not knowing Japanese xD And I can't find any scans in Japanese either.

Yuri-ism picked up a serialization of Itou Hachi in Hirari, but that was for the Legally Married series right?

Yuri is softcore enough for steam~

Isn't it because it's not showing any genitalia?
Not as in censored, but completely cut off.

I'm really happy about this for two different reasons. The first being, of course, that this is both an incredible leap forward for both steam and society in general; therefore, I'm immensely glad to see more yuri/shoujo-ai games come stateside. The second being that I have played the raw version of this game and I can't wait to play a translated version!

Okujou no Yurirei does have choices and it branches into different couples too. Also there's a good and normal ending for the MC (whether she ends up with her partner or not). They do have a mild ecchi scene... gotta wait for it.

Hoping for them to do well enough to make them take their new generation of girls and translate em officially (and maybe the originals too...)

I've been saying this a lot but the reason this game is on Steam is because it never broke any of Steam's rules to begin with.

This is not a "first step" towards anything, it's just that this game does not have explicit nudity or graphical sexual content and thus can easily get an M rating which has been allowed on Steam since forever. Doddler himself (the guy who programmed this game for MG) has stated this isn't even the most sexually explicit game on Steam and the press is being a bit ridiculous about it which he even kind of fears might have negative effects in the long run.

Don't take this as me being negative though, I'm happy this game is getting publicity, but the way people are making it out to be in most outlets is ridiculously exaggerated and focuses on making this game to be literally just lesbian porn which is absurdand doesn't do the game any justice at all. ANN was the only website I saw to report on this game without emphasizing the sexual content.

The sole reason I hold this opinion is because i don't want this game, which is a really good title in Liar Soft's library and could potentially open up more deals with the company, to be perceived as something it's not. Although i know in the end it's just going to result in Steam Reviews saying "Played this with my left hand. 11/10".

^ Seen the Sakura series? bahah :D

Anyways, things are gonna die down when they actually see that the game has no excplicit content in it. Other than holding hands and kissing.

Wouldn't say this is not explicit :P There just aren't any genitalia shown, there is nudity.

Release should be on the 25th.

e: is there a release date for Kindred Spirits? A quick search only shows a rather vague "2016".
