Yes! I saw the news too, very happy about that... At first they said everything was lost, but the fire couldn't reach beyond the concrete walls in the servers!

Veterans and newcomers living their dream job in one of the most iconic studios, the loss is immeasurable.

I'm inclined to think that even if the Evergarden movie is still on track. Dragon maid 2 may be affected too much to continue

Somewhat glad it's recovered. But still, it's devastatingly sad that so many people responsible for such quality work are gone... THEY are irreplaceable.

the people who are asking what might compel a person to do something like this didn’t read lol. It says that his novel may have been plagiarized by somebody in the studio. Although what he did was terrible, they were also at fault for trying to steal someone else’s ideas. Disney committed the same crime to the guy who produced “Book of Life” and “El Tigre,” and these big name studios needed to be taught a lesson.

Whether they plagiarized or not, they didn’t deserve to get burned to death. And thanks to this murderer, we lost a wonderful studio and creative staff who brought us wonderful shows like Violet Evergarden and all the Kyoani classics.

Just looked this up to see if anything new had happened. Apparently the dude that did it suffered burns over 90% of his body and has somehow survived it. In fact his case is probably going to be studied pretty extensively because burns over that much of the body are 99% fatal... and the skin grafts used for him were sourced solely from what little skin of his own he had left, and synthetic grafts.

Apparently despite being mentally ill he will still be arrested once he is deemed capable of living without medical assistance.

If the dude is deemed mentally competent to stand trial no doubt he'll get the death penalty, which really makes so much effort to save him seem moot, were it not for his contribution to science.
