The bar gets raised when we have multiple anime with "I. LIKE. GIRLS."

Make a doujin togehtee is enought to make them fall for each other

Think Kaori liked her from high school, she tells her that she's her favourite person in chapter 1 even though they just got back in touch after several years

It's not raising the bar to exclude manga like crosswings won't fly, it's just gatekeeping imo.

Meeting someone from your niche doujin subculture while they're working part time at a service job is truly the worst lol

Surely the doujin shut is what you dedicate your life to because the menial, mortal drudgery of life would be unbearable without it? Right? Am I right?

i'll never understand this sentiment that for a work to be considered true yuri or gay rep, you need to have undeniable and official evidence. it's a weird reaction to homophobes in fandom who for years would argue against gay subtext and headcanons. ironically you now have to fight gay people in your own fandoms about why so-and-so can be considered yuri even if they didn't kiss. imagine if the revolutionary girl utena movie didn't exist? people would talk about RGU (the series) a lot differently.

Yeah, it took me a minute to remember that Electric Sheep and Wisteria is the name of the in universe series. With that said, were there any april fool's comics this year? I'm missing my annual dose of conlangs.

I've only read up to ch1 so far, but man, I do love how Subtext has become each time less and less sub nowadays.

That or my yuri goggles are slowly rooting themselves even more in my brain than they already were. Probably both.

EDIT: CH4 IS SO PEAK

AND 5 IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PEAK WTF DO U MEAN SUBTEXT GIRL

EDIT:

You and your beautiful butt!

I think it's just a symptom of how the yuri fandom is changing these days. newer fans of yuri seem much more obsessive over deciding whether something is yuri or not based purely on confessions of love or physical intimacy. If the characters don't stare at the cameras and call themselves a lesbian, or if they aren't kissing with tongue in chapter one, some people call it subtext (or worse, bait). There's been a loss of nuance, and this boxing in of yuri to mean "this is an explicitly lesbian romance" and nothing else.

I've found it a bit frustrating that many series, this one included, are obviously well within the bounds of intimacy to call it yuri, but are still labeled subtext anyways.

It's the only way I can understand for how a series by two authors who write yuri erotica irl, who are writing a story about fictional women writing yuri erotica, both chracters whom are obviously queer themselves, would be labeled as subtext rather than just yuri lol.

That's a fair assessment, yeah.
