Democracy is when people are condemned for disliking racism apparently

Making a joke isn’t racism bro. It’s just being edgy

That was what 4chan thought, look where it got them

You talk about a website with a large amount of people like it’s a single person lol

There’s been some good thanks to 4chan, idk why ppl act like 4chan is a single entity that only commits crimes, or a hive mind that acts in unison

For normal people, a joke is a joke, and that’s it. For crazy people, a joke isn’t a joke, and they do crazy stuff… cuz they’re insane

Let me put it this way. If me and my buddy both swan-dive into a pool of raw sewage, him in earnest and me as a joke, the fact that I was doing it "ironically" isn't going to have me smelling any better than he is when I climb out of it.

The fact is, shitposts are very ineffective at conveying intent. The guy saying slurs to be a funny edgelord, and the guy saying slurs because they're an actual card-carrying Klansman, don't appear any different once their words are on the page, and when they start reading each other's work, one invariably becomes the other. Create a space where someone can be racist to be funny, and you also create a space where someone can be racist to be racist.

What does Centurii-chan actually believe? I don't know. Is it worth not hosting their images here anymore? I don't know. But those are the waters they appear to be splashing in lately. Don't say nobody warned you.

If you can just say something is a joke and it's automatically forgiven, then what the fuck is the point in combatting racism and bigotry?

I don't think being edgy should be rewarded. Not punishing these people counts towards rewarding them.

They also did fuck all to stop the awful people over there, I don't see why the site should get a free pass for not doing the bare minimum.

Making racist jokes is racist regardless of intent. Doesn't matter if you're "just being edgy", you're still doing a racism

You've been doing nothing but defend racism because it's "just a joke" and stretching the words of other users to make them seem crazy and too sensitive, when anyone who has ever browsed 4chan knows there's no difference between the serious and not-serious ones when in the end they're blaming everything on "thirdies" (despite a lot of them being from the imperial core), women (explain how it's okay to be calling trans women sexual predators and other awful things all the time and how this doesn't impact reality at all, and how the usual incel narrative also has no impact) and poc (usual racism found everywhere online but they get to throw ethnic slurs with no consequeneces).

Saving a puppy or two isn't comparable to stalking others and being yet another place to radicalize people. It's not unique to it, big sites are all the same, what changes is that on places like Reddit or Tumblr you can't explicitly say "Kill All (whatever is the current target)", first you need to make it sound queer and/or progressive, but come on lol. Are you browsing it through Reddit or what?

You don't get to decide what is or isn't actually racist based on how uncomfortable it makes YOU who likely have no stakes in how others treat you and your history, and you probably don't know shit about how the people being depicted in those drawings live and the awful things that are happening to them, and if you do you clearly don't care because you're racist. Why else would you be okay with a joke of another's tragedy when you yourself won't find solace in it? If you think racism is only when you call brown people apes or asian people dog eaters, you're mistaken.

I'm tired of this discussion, you know what you're doing and I'm not falling for it anymore. I wish Dynasty wasn't so lenient with racism because that's what it is to be downplaying it.

This is one of the points I think is the most frustrating about all of this, the alarm bells having been blasting for years and yet here we are. As others have said "jokes" and other similar things are commonly used as a Trojan Horse for bigotry. It sneaks bigotry into places and then the bigotry builds momentum, all while hateful people try their hardest to gaslight everyone around them into thinking they're not hateful. I've seen it so much over the years and it's miserable, the internet and a lot of people in the world feel so poisoned by hate. Yet somehow despite all of this I still hope to see more love in the world in my lifetime.

Saying “I love hitler” isn’t a joke. Grossly oversimplifying a complicated situation for comedic affect is a joke

It’s different

I don't think being edgy should be rewarded. Not punishing these people counts towards rewarding them.

You’re entitled to your own opinion

I’m not giving anyone a free pass LMAO bruh what? I’m just saying, 4chan isn’t just filled with toxic ppl?? Not everything is black and white, people can make jokes and only see it as a joke and treat people normally outside of the joke— because it’s a joke, it’s not something they seriously consider.

I'm just going to leave this here because these guys are much smarter than me and much better at explaining things.

That was a good listen, thanks for posting. But I'm not quite sure what point you were trying to support/make with it (if any definite one), because it seems like a case of "complex issues may preclude simple answers".
