Me not being a Duke Nukem fan aside, from what I remember the whole production was a mess, numerous devs working on the game forever / so many cooks in the kitchen. A nightmare on numerous levels. From everything I know about Silk Song the dev team has just been hard at work trying to bring us the best game they can make, and it keeps taking more time. Could Silk Song suck? Sure, but I have a lot more hope for it being good once they do finish it.

^That's fair, I remember the game coming out and a lot of people being disappointed, so I wanted to say at least in favor of Silk Song as far as we know the production isn't completely on fire like it was for Duke Nukem lol

The anime does have its funny moments, like when Satoko’s boobs size were ridiculously increased in episode 6 I believe it was, but the whole concept with the sudden deaths still feels a bit off to me. Even with the humor, you can still see how much the characters wanted to live normal lives, especially in those scenes where we see bits of their personalities after they’ve been turned into Lefts. Those scenes are pretty sad, in my opinion, no matter how much the show tries to play them off as comedic. Watching them still left me with a lingering of sadness. Regarding the Lefts, in the anime Satoko is learning how to turn lefts back into humans. I haven’t read the manga, so I’m not sure if that’s she actually succeeds, but it could offer some hope for the characters who were transformed. Those glimpses of their lives at the end of each episode might be hinting at that possibility. The series definitely balances comedy and sadness in a unique way, that’s for sure. :D. I actually really enjoy the anime. The characters are genuinely funny, and I love how it occasionally switches up the animation by using real-life photos, like when they were making sandwiches. Aside from that, I’d say I’m also a bit conflicted about the anime. I know it’s just fiction, but sometimes it comes off as a bit insensitive

@LilyBlueCat I'm glad to see someone is in a similar boat as me with the series, and I do agree that the series is generally well done in terms of how it's handled, animation and direction, so fourth. I also uh...hate to be the bearer of some bad news with anime spoiler talk, in the same episode they talk about the possibility of people being reverted from leaves back to corpses, and revived from there, they take that information to then burn the leaves and use them to roast potatoes. That's why they give a bag of roasted potatoes as a gift. They used the dead girls to cook potatoes...and I genuinely hate how disturbing and dark that is. Plus it's a way of rubbing in how they're dead and never coming back...

^ I completely forgot about that part, I don’t know how it slipped my mind! (^^ ") I agree, using the girls’ leaves/corpses to roast the potatoes was definitely odd, to say the least. I get that the anime’s main concept is to be comedic with disturbing elements dark humor and colorful setting and animation, but some scenes feel really unsettling. Like in this case with the leaves, and also how they kill off ninjas so suddenly without much care for those characters. I’m actually a little confused about the direction the anime is taking so far. Initially, it seemed focused on the duo using their abilities to take down targets for the assassin, but now I’m not sure if it’s going to keep that approach or if there will be a sudden shift after episode 6. Who knows maybe it will become more sentimental :D
