Seifuku no Vampiress Lord by Matsumoto Tomoki. A male vampire converts a teenage girl only to find she has zero interest in him because she's a lesbian who already has a girlfriend.
https://dynasty-scans.com/series/seifuku_no_vampiress_lord

As great as the series is, no, she does not already have a girlfriend, the (accidental) confession comes quite a bit later, and she is also rather surprised by the revelation that her taste in blood also indicates her orientation. She does accept the fact quite easily, though, and from then on...

Ya I just started reading and she accepts it super quick lol. Hell...she practically dives into it as she finds out in at the end of Ch. 3 that she prefers girls and then spends all of Ch. 4 admiring the different girls at her school.
Really liking this one so far. It's pretty damn funny even without the yuri. But of course the yuri puts it over the top.

This has turned into a damn good recommendation thread.

Sorry, I didn't reread it before recommending to nail down the specifics. But like her girlfriend is unofficially her girlfriend at the start of the series anyway.

As far as I can find Matsumoto Tomoki hasn't written anything else since this story ended in 2017 in a way that seems like was terribly stressful for her, which is sad. I hope she can pair up with a good artist so she can write and let someone else handle drawing the girls since her artistic process seems unpleasant for her but her writing is S+ quality imo.

It's nice to see people appreciate those early chapters because at the time the dynasty comments were all arguing about if it's REALLY yuri because a guy exists, and for some reason death of the author and politics and stuff?? It's very confusing looking back at it lmao

Yes, I post this because I want to see main character either coming out, or at least coming into terms with their sexual orientation. Loving a specific person of the same sex just does not fly. The majority of the suggestions here that have been given I have already read them, or partially read them. Maria-holic can be considered not a Yuri, Shimanami Tasogare does not fit anywhere other than in a category of its own (LGBT), It's a Detached Relationship does have a proper self-aware lesbian main couple (and side character). Almost all of Takemiya JIn's characters are out publicaly, socially, or at least to themselves (thus we have lots of bar scenes).
The whole point is to find example that mimics "real life". Its like in fragments of love the main character explained to the side character as to why they are gay, and essentially there is no answer to it, being gay is being gay, that is the reason.
Please post some more examples so that I can catch up on what I miss....

The Moon on a Rainy Night is another one. Saki is very much aware that she's a lesbian and was previously crushing on her piano teacher before falling for Kanon.

I've caught up to Chapter 39. I swear Kanon is a lesbian, but I cannot not out exactly what it is. It is a vibe. Maybe she treats Saki more than just a close friend.

Okay, that's a bit clearer. Though I'm still not sure if you're looking for outright lesbians, or simply "I like girls", since you mention Yuzu as pansexual.

https://dynasty-scans.com/series/making_progress_on_yuri_before_the_deadline IIRC the MC comes out (or is outed) and flees a homophobic home and high school. It's not a huge part of the ongoing series, but it's the initial setup.

Arioto was already mentioned. The MC is defiant but the deuteragonist is very self-aware, and the MC comes around, and a lesbian bar is a major component of the setting.

Whispered Words. The MCs are into cute girls, or into the other MC.

There are a lot of modern titles where WLW just happens. There's not "I'm gay/queer/bi/homosexual", but also not "you're the exceptional girl". I.e. titles where orientation simply isn't an issue. Whisper Me A Love Song, Bloom Into You (I think, though side char Sayaka does have a talk with some adult lesbians). Blue Star On That Day. Room For Two (that one, there is some fear of coming out, but there hasn't been talk of liking girls in general or not.)

I forget what Girl Friends did with all this.

Yeah How To Break a Triangle is another example OP provided that doesn't match with their request. All 3 of the main characters from that manga are the "single target sexuality" type. Koto even tries to date and sleep with both men and women to get over her first love but is unable to move on.

Feels like this should qualify. "I've always just known I was into women." https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/so_do_you_want_to_go_out_or_ch01#17

And the other MC: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/so_do_you_want_to_go_out_or_ch01#30

Also the one-shot version. Very gay.

Edit: oh, I see now it was already mentioned, under the "how do we relationship" title.

I'm confused as to why you'd disqualify Our Dreams At Dusk like that given it fits your criteria stated in the same post: it's got a lesbian couple who are very explicit about being lesbians and talk a lot about possibly coming out to their parents. That's as "real life" as it gets.

Some other less obvious examples of characters who explicitly address being a lesbian or wlw instead of being single-person-sexual or leaving their sexuality unstated.
Toriko from Otherside Picnic.
Fuuko from My Girlfriend's Not Here Today.
Most of the cis girl side characters in Boku Girl.
Contrary to what you'd expect from the title, at least half a dozen girls in Sorry but I'm Not Into Yuri.
Misa from A Face You Shouldn't Show.
The main character of A Lying Bride's Case for Same-Sex Marriage.
Ruka from Convenient Semi-Friend.
Momoka from The Real Momoka.
Almost the entire major female cast of Murcielago.
The central bi4bi F/F couple in Ohana Holoholo.
Yeonhwa from the Korean erotic thriller manhwa White Angels Get No Rest (read content warnings/tags before trying out this one).

Yes, absolutely be sure to do that. Read them twice, maybe.

But also it can be worth pushing yourself past your limits for it, I certainly don't regret reading it despite not liking that sort of content at all normally.
