"Frieren is hinted to be in love with Himmel. Her regret is what prompted the journey (at least the way i read it)"
eh, I don't see this. She's just going on a journey to collect books, and also because elves live long lives, they would die of boredom if they stay in one place their entire lives. Furthermore, the current arc where Frieren is around Himmel a lot, there's not a lot of chemistry between them.
^^^Well, yeah, I know, I follow that manga series quite closely since the release of ch20. But crackshipping is fun :))
^^Frieren even in the current manga arc is still pretty cold (heh), also she's being careful not to spill too much info and/or change the known past or the future, so she won't act out much, but I'm fairly sure the eventual parting will be quite emotional.
^ Which hardly matters, since she was entirely devoted and submissive to her. Tragically so.
By the way, am I the only one who finds it odd how anime twins (and I assume the Japanese in general) recognize which twin is "older"? I mean, I get age-based seniority, but really ... "Yup, I was first out of Mom's vagina, by three minutes, so that makes you my little sister!"
"she didn't realize he was into her until after he fucking died" like I said, I don't see this anywhere, especially in the current arc where they are travelling together because Frieren time travelled.
I find it more likely Frieren looks up to Himmel and sees him as a role model for human interactions and feelings.
^ I have a twin and she is 7 minutes older than me. I think people recognize us like that since they can't find any other methods to choose from. Then again, it's perfectly normal for the older one being based by age.
Though, I don't know if this is what you're thinking. So I apologize if I'm wrong.
I quite like it even if I accept Fern and Stark, I do hope someone have the guts to do Frieren and Serie or Frieren and Solitär.
Flamme would be sweet too.
