I'd advise you to read the manga. It's not canon since it's not yuri (yet? I can dream) but they get progressively closer. And all the promotional stuff puts Bonita and RyoNiji as preferred pairings (reader can take it was they want). So a shipper of any of these is well fed. I have to warn you, tho: manga scanlations are like halfway through the manga (30 chapters vs. 60 chapters in JP), but hopefully the translation team expands with the rise in popularity (it used to be only one person).
