That reminded me of Astroboy

I really liked the view of Tokyo. We've known all along that there's much more advanced technology in this setting but we hadn't gotten a look at the "modern" world until now, thanks to the rural setting of the story. We can see a lot of relatively normal buildings in the foreground, but the background skyscrapers all have to be new (the tallest buildings in Tokyo today are only about half as high as those in cities like Chicago or New York).

That reminded me of Astroboy

Aww that was cute, that underground smoking area looked like hell though, that would give you lung cancer in a second.

I laughed out loud when they showed the flashback to grandpa and Ponko flying in the rain after being asked if they’d flown before

Couldn’t have said it better myself! I almost expected her to continually get roped into helping out clubs and somehow end up working for the student council as an honorary member or something lol

There has almost always been a punchline at the end of chapters where Ponko seems to be doing something helpful. Like when she brought Gen an umbrella, but forgot the umbrella. This really did feel like the first chapter where Ponko was given a task and she accomplished it cleanly.

Wow. The concluding robo-shark chapter was a stupid waste of time.

I love how ponko hacking was just a little maze like you’d see on the kids menu of a restaurant. …And I have no idea how Yuuna got away with pretending it was all planned when the shark burst through several concrete walls in the school… legendary culture fest indeed.

Uh ohhhhh, ponko got factory reset…

I’m curious though if we’ll get any more info about her past through this, either through her “blank slate” talking about how she’s secretly a war robot or whatever, or if they reset her to the time she spent working as a nurse with the deceased wife… there’s a lot that could happen here

The geezer part doesn't look like a personality appropriate to use in the hospital, a factory reset with some mix up is definitely more likely
I'll bet we will see Ponko getting constantly reset until the proper personality arise, I feel like we might see the same Ponko when she was nursing his wife as well
