Does this bother you somehow?

Does this bother you somehow?

I kind of... has a 'thing' for that.

Ah, a different definition of "bother" then.

More seriously, it's hard to say. Not every pregnant woman gets them after all, and some get them without being pregnant. I had a cow-orker once who had a similar sort of build to Sakuya, and at 8 months she looked like she'd swallowed a grape. It varies a lot.

Similar build to Sakuya? Was your co-worker a model or something?

Maybe not as tall, but she had that willowy slim thing going on. A legal secretary as it happens, but a pretty one.

The way I always read this is Sakuya having always insisted on remaining human until the end of her life. It's been one of the defining parts of her character. But here she is faced with becoming something much larger than herself, being Meiling's wife and her child's mother as she says, and that makes the determination when she was alone look small by comparison. So she chooses not only for her happiness, but for theirs as well. And, by extension, the other members of her extended family as referred to by Meiling.

It's certainly a much better outcome than for instance, the Luna Dial stories where Remilia forces it upon her.

This isn't even tagged as a tragedy and yet I have tears begging to drop from my eyes T.T

Considering her powers, I don't think Meiling or Sakuya need to worry about her dying of old age, as her age fluctuates with games. Hell, I think she'll outlive Meiling even.

By the way, this is a bit of a necro-post here, but I think it's important.

Meiling says "Kurenai Sakuya" on page 9. This is because "Hong Meiling" is the Chinese reading of "紅美鈴". In Japanese, this can be read as "Kurenai Misuzu".

And I've double checked the japanese original, and Meiling says "Kurenai" in Katakana (to be absolutely clear).

In other words: Sakuya took the characters in Meiling's surname here, but uses the Japanese "Kurenai" instead of the Chinese "Hong".

I have no idea if this is standard practice or not for when Chinese and Japanese people get married.
