I'd like to know this as well.

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but I made a fix for some images for MOON RIVER (a doujin I typeset)

Thanks to EvilDevil for spotting the typo on page 21. That gave me an excuse to fix up some retouching I wasn't really happy with on a few other pages.

Affected pages are 08, 21, 33, and 41.

I already put up the changed versions on e-hentai, or you can download them from google drive:

I'm the guy who typeset this, and I'm ashamed to have missed that.

I know exactly how that happened though. "M" is a hotkey for the "move" tool in GIMP. I meant to move the bubble but accidentally put a letter in the bubble.

Thanks for catching that. I wasn't really happy with some bits of page 8, so now I have an excuse to fix that as well.

Let me know if you have any more suggestions.

By the way, this is a bit of a necro-post here, but I think it's important.

Meiling says "Kurenai Sakuya" on page 9. This is because "Hong Meiling" is the Chinese reading of "紅美鈴". In Japanese, this can be read as "Kurenai Misuzu".

And I've double checked the japanese original, and Meiling says "Kurenai" in Katakana (to be absolutely clear).

In other words: Sakuya took the characters in Meiling's surname here, but uses the Japanese "Kurenai" instead of the Chinese "Hong".

I have no idea if this is standard practice or not for when Chinese and Japanese people get married.

Page 12:

Dang it! Thanks for spotting it. It was supposed to be "She followed me here of her own accord", and you'll notice that "HERE" doesn't appear in the version that got uploaded. Gee, I wonder where it could have gone?

Page 19:

Now that I think about it, you're right. That's probably an "artifact" left behind from the original translation.

And regarding "un/subconscious", the original Japanese term is "無意識"

I've memorized the hiragana, I kinda understand how particles work, and I know less than half of 1st grade Kyōiku kanji. In other words, I have NO IDEA if "無意識" is better translated as "Subconscious" or "Unconscious". Google Translate and the original English translation render it as "unconscious". The Touhou Wiki page for Koishi (https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Koishi_Komeiji) mainly uses the term "unconscious'" as well.

In short, I think I made the right decision with the information I have available, but I will admit that this is not complete information.

That said, if you look at the original raws, you will find that my usage of "unconscious" ONLY appears in bubbles "無意識" appears. Likewise, you will only see the word "Impulses" where "衝動" appears in the raws, and I was careful to make sure "消" was translated consistently as "erase". When I had my doubts about the accuracy of"消" being "erase", I found a second doujin that translated the same word in a near-similar situation the same way: https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/941575?pool_id=3659 (spoilers for my next project I guess. If anyone wants to proofread that, hit me up).

That said, I ALMOST made the mistake of putting in the word "UnconsciousNESS", which DOES explictly refer to someone being knocked out.

FUCK.

I just realized that on Page 16 that I was supposed to break the word "Underestimating" as "Underesti-mating", not "Underestim-ating".

On a completely unrelated topic, Perfect Sunrise Scans is looking for a QC person. Get in touch with me on Reddit or something if interested.

Hello everyone. I'm currently the only member of Perfect Sunrise Scans.

This is one of my favorite Doujins, and I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I have.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the changes I made to the existing version.

Also, since this is my first release, I'd love to hear any criticism you may have.

Anyway, in regards to the source of the images for this project, you are correct. Not only is it higher-res, it's from a better source. When the existing translation was made, it used a Chinese scanlation, as the Japanese raws did not seem to be available at the time. Fortunately, the raws are available now.

Here's a side-by-side comparison, with the images kept to scale: https://i.imgur.com/suPWBGL.png

And here's the old version just in case you want to look at it: https://e-hentai.org/g/734258/b5a556f8a9/

I initially went into this just with the intention of replacing the Comic Sans with something sensible (although I know that a few people here don't like Wild Words either). But, it didn't take me long to realize just how... rough around the edges the original translation was. I ultimately asked Levander of DB Scans re-translate a sizeable chunk of this. I didn't want to waste his time, so I only had him retranslate a few parts. So if you do find any blatant errors, I'll take 100% of the blame. I'm extremetly grateful for that help. I'm quite confident that the new version you see here will provide a much better reading experience.

Anyway, I already posted this Reddit, where I left an EXHAUSTIVE list of changes in the comments. Feel free to check it out for more insight into the changes I made here: https://www.reddit.com/r/touhou/comments/eam3v3/yohanes_yuki_toke_no_yue_is_an_extremely/

Also, I'm working on a typesetting of Blue Book: Isaraizure. Expect it soon!

EDIT: Disregard everything after this point. You ninja-ed me, and you seem to be happy.

Also, Hollows, if you're reading this, I'd just like to thank you personally for translating it in the first place. If you had never made that translation, in all likelyhood I would never have started this project.

Five years ago, you left a comment here that said this about your translation:

"Maybe all it should be is a placeholder to satisfy people's curiosity."

Well, it took a while, but your translation's role as a placeholder has now finished. Rest easy, friend.
