It's a scarcity thing, before brigite D.Va was a lot younger than all the other characters and most of the other young women like tracer were already paired off in more popular ships.

The cat thing is just icing on the cake really, like the haloween mercy/pharah skins.

^ Rena(blue) and Kaede(light brown), they are the KMR team along with Momoko, and the three are basically the B-team for the main story in MagiReco, Rena is ultra tsun about everything and has a very difficult time expressing herself, but cares deeply for Kaede, Kaede is superficially very sensitive, but over time she grows more and more used to Rena's behavior, and after a while, she can easily manipulate Rena because her tsun behavior is so predictable to Kaede, Kaede is the girl who tamed her tsundere love interest.

There is also the first Christmas event, where Rena puts on a rather low cut Santa outfit, and Kaede is very blatantly staring at her breasts the entire time, to the point Rena gives Kaede a "eyes up here" line.
