Mine would definitely be Nishi Uko.

damn, you beat me to it. her or Rokuroichi or... I'm torn. I don't wanna pick just one. I have like 5 or 6 I'd add to the list because each is a master/mistress in his or her own sub-genre.

Crap, that's difficult... hm... Otsu Hiyori.

I don't have a single favourite, more like a cluster at the top. Morishima Akiko, Takemiya Jin, Rokuroichi, Personal Colour, GP-Kids, Millet Soup, Hakka-Ya, Aki Eda and Pikachi are the names that come to mind most readily.

in my non-yuri category i'd add Q Kyu and the good folks over at Behind Moon.
I'd also add Ken Kurogane, cuz it was one of his one-shots that led me to Dynasty in the first place.

I totally forgot to include Mikune Hajime!! To say nothing of Fujieda Miyabi! I'm a bad yuri fan. =(

And if we're also mentioning non-yuri, I'd say Adachi Mitsuru, Hitoshi Ashinano and Kozue Amano

I agree, as you get older the amount of data you have gets longer and longer. All these "what's your favourite song/movie/book" questions are mostly unanswerable.

Top 3 would've been more manageable, but I understand why you said 1.

I'd go with Sakuraba Yuuki (Personal Color). S/he does excellent SoL, excellent action, excellent romance, and excellent nsfw. If all series were written by her/him, I think I'd be guaranteed high quality yuri in a variety of genres.

Otherwise, I would go with the criminally inactive Natsuneko, for much the same reason.
