The dialogues felt so stiff and random, the art is good but somehow this wasn't sexy overall.

I like the way the artist not only chose a crack pairing but also one they don't seem to care about at all. This is peak yuri-as-commodity.

The posing is really stiff (note that the characters almost never bend their torsos) and the shots don't vary much in angle or perspective, so a lot of panels seem repetitive or redundant.

The art isn't terrible, it's just uninteresting. I guess I'm just disappointed because the Toys tag got my hopes up.

I thought they were boob holes at first. Like she was sick and in bed in her own house not expecting anybody to come over, and she was wearing slutty lingerie. The only thing that was missing was Umi as a pizza delivery person and the cheesy '70s bass soundtrack.

I really like Umi and Maki together but they looked so out of character, the story is not bad just not well developed and the art it's ok

I only realised that after reading that comment. Honestly, I've been staring at Maki's chest the whole time I was reading and going wtf is with her shirt. The art's decent but the story is pretty meh.

I'm kind of boggling at the idea of these two being a crack pairing when I've read a fair amount of fanfic with them. Songwriter-composer is a pretty natural combination and there's lots of ways you could justify them making a connection.

That said, you're absolutely right about this basically being a commodity. You would literally take this story and plug any character into it with exactly the same dialogue. Neither of them are particularly in character anyway, so Maki x Umi works in it the same as, I dunno, Erena x any of the stage manager girls. It doesn't matter, they're both written as generic as can be anyway so why not?

Actually didn't know that Umi was a songwriter, almost all of what I know about LL comes from dynasty scans dot com. The pair definitely makes sense in that context, though, it just comes off as crack when depersonalized like this.
