I don't think you miss much not reading Netsuzou Trap. It's okay so far but that's all it is. Not a must read in my opinion. And I'm also rooting for the girls. Takeda and Yuma could never be happy together as a couple so rooting for them wouldn't make any sense. Just meant to say that Takeda never did anything to deserve any hate. He's a good guy who just happened to fall in love with the wrong girl...

Not too keen on Scarlett Johansson playing Motoko... not that I dislike her... just not what I would have imagined... The trailer looks okay-ish... Not great. But I actually expected much worse ^^

In all seriousness tho.. Not in the direct context of what you said, but I honestly do think it's pretty justifiable how one group of the audience can root for a certain pairing just because of the gender(s) of the characters.
Needless to say, I myself always try to go for the logical/healthy pairings. I have plenty of them that I like in spite of them being hetero (male/male is so alien to me I don't have an opinion on such slashes..)
Well, from what little I understood the main reason for such reactions is that very often in yuri works in here it's the second woman that loses in a love triangle. It's a pretty logical conclusion that people will root for the underdog in suchs stories, and that is without even getting to the part of the theme of this forum.
But hey, I too have a bias for two girls relationships.

Same here. Got nothing against her, but as Motoko.. I don't know, I really am trying my hardest not to judge. Will see how it all pans out, will probably go to cinema to see it tho.
On a side note, Batou's eyes look horribly stupid in that film. Nothing will change my opinion on that.

The report I'm doing is based on a theatrical workshop we did when working with Broadway, I go to a drama school you see so it's jus the thing we always have to do, and like relate it to practisers in drama such as Stanislavsky or Artuad. I mean I do enjoy writing them but not when it's almost 12 midnight, but it's my own fault for that ahahah.
