Is Kashimashi better as a manga? I watched the english dubbed anime and absolutely hated it. I wonder if it was just a bad conversion and the original source material is great.

You watched it dubbed thats why. In my experience dubs sound horrible almost all the time. Usually it's the female VA's that sound screachy and grating. And I think the manga was better.

I first came across anime and I completely adored it. The comedy was brilliant, I liked drama and it was overall really good in my opinion. I watched it three times. But then later I read manga and I have to admit. Watching only anime, while series is good on its own, the ending sucks cos they went different way than manga, but then they tried to somehow match the ending of manga making ending of anime total bs. Also there is few aspects in manga that were generally done better.

Thanks! That makes me so happy to hear. Because my main gripe with the anime was the ending. I'll definitely be sure to read the manga now that I know all this.

Even though it ends on a cliff hanger, it kind of reminded me of how Gone With the Wind ended. I just did the same thing I did with that movie and used my imagination for the rest.
Maybe that's just because I'm super lenient with endings and often times like endings people dislike.

Aoi Hana is one of those manga's that you need to dedicate a lot of time to fully get into. Once I find that time, I'll definitely finish it.

When I first read it, the 6 chapter ended so perfectly that I actually was sure that series ended and closed the page. It wasn't until I was re-reading it that I noticed that there is actually a 7 chapter. My main grip with that was that it made it looks like Mika cheated with Shouko. Even if it was never said they had sex, they definitely kissed. Also this chapter felt totally random and pointless. The beginning with Mako discussing her sexuality was nice, but then her being on edge came out of nowhere, as well as the whole Mika was going to Shouko to have excuse to fight with Mako thing. Both elements were never explained. And it wasn't really even a open end, they both met, made up and are happy together. I honestly couldn't get into that chapter, because I felt like drama was there for the sake of drama, which contrasted really badly with 6 chapter which might not have any heavy drama, but had Mako coming to terms with her sexuality and telling people about it and chapter ends with them having a christmas party. No matter how I look at it, chapter 6 just works better as ending and doesn't feel unnecessary.

I looked it over again and I have to admit, you've got a major point. When I exclude chapter 7, it makes it a lot better. I totally see where you're getting at.

Interesting choices. I haven't read like half the stuff on your list, but I'm always for the inclusion of Girl Friends and Octave. I might go ahead and look up Ragnarock City after I type this out. Sounds kinky.

I think Octave also fits the bill if you haven't read it yet.

You remember right, the story is all about their relationship rather than the lead-up to confessing.

Similarly, in Hanjuku Joshi the leads get together by about chapter two or three, and the rest is about their developing relationship, and that of another couple.
