Thinking back to that ending... Ep. 9 to be precise... I could imagine why you've stopped then... ^^
That was just brutal... Really didn't see that coming...

It was probably not that. I can deal with brutal stuff.

The only horror movie I remember liking was an Outlast playthough cause Horror game gameplay is like super boring to me.

Yeah, that's an interesting thing. Most horror games don't give me the same problems as films or stories. Maybe it's the agency you've got as a player, or the artificial nature. I do recall that Among the Sleep was nerve-wracking in spots, so that's one that was effective.

Oh, and the sound design for the original Silent HIll was extremely effective, although the graphics were pretty lacking.

@Anon99 Yup, enjoyed that single part of the link. Will give it a full relisten tomorrow, since I'm leaving the city tomorrow.

@Nezchat the only horror games that I've played (not couting things like Killing Floor) were the first two Bioshock games. I don't like horrors all too much, especially in games, but managed to stomach them for the fantastic world around you and a good story.

@ Nezchan

Absolutely! Silent Hill has one of the best videogame soundtracks ever! I still listen to them on a regular basis. The ones Akira Yamaoka made. As for the rest... meh...

There was the Silent Hill HD Collection but unfortunately Silent Hill 1 wasn't included in that... Probably would have been too much work. But I'd still love to see that happening. The original Silent Hill with better graphics, I mean.
The first 3 games were the best.

Funny that you can play horror games but can't stomach horror movies. ^^
If I had to choose and tell which one is more nerve-wracking for me I'd say videogames are. Most movies don't really scare me. Probably because most of them are pretty stupid to begin with.

@ Galich

Have a good trip then! ^^
Where will you be going?

Well, time to leave for class. Have a nice day/night everyone! ^ _ ^

I just realized...I didn't sleep at all lol. Time flies :o

@Rina Good luck! Sleep is for the weak anyway. Falls asleep in less than an hour

@Anon Going to my family (they live around 150km away from my house). Since I don't have a driver's license yet, trains are the only option. Gonna be there only for a day, and mainly to transport some money. Nothing too exciting really.

Actually, I'm too sleepy.. eyes close on their own.. gotta go to sleep, have a good night or day everyone!

Silent Hill 4 was a great idea, but the execution was lacking in spots.

I always found E.T. to be pretty creepy.
I know he was kind and all and the movie was good too but the way he looked... pretty creepy indeed... ^^
For me back when I was a child at least.

E.T. is one of the most innocent and sweetest movies ever made, yet it gave me nightmares. go figure. i watched the Omen with little more than a few weird dreams, but was scared shitless after watching E.T. meh.

@Nezchan - okay, so if horror movies aren't your cup of tea, what kind of movies do you like?

I'll be honest I don't watch many movies at all these days. But I used to watch more from a variety of genres. I kind of like independent and foreign films, documentaries, action, drama, SF, comedies, all the usual stuff. I never was a big one for romance films. Animated stuff of all sorts of course. Not sure you'd call any of those my favourite type, I'm more a generalist in that sense.

Yoshiko Sakakibara is Ana in Overwatch. Like Romi Park was already Pharah... so I was already playing the Japanese dub, but now with Haman Karn in this... I don't think I will ever touch the English dub again.

Help.

@ Rina

I actually watched Blood Widow last night before going to bed ^^
Nice little bedtime story ;)
I really liked the design of that Widow. That android-like look was pretty cool. Reminded me of Tsutomu Niheis character design in BLAME!:
http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/tsutomu-nihei/images/3/38/Sanakan2.png/revision/latest?cb=20150530184737
But I think I'll go for one of the old movies next. New slasher movies really lack that old-school charm...

Just like you I'm also looking forward to the last Resident Evil movie.
Compared to the games the story really is kinda crappy but I always had a thing for those movies.
Really like them (for what they are).

@ Nezchan

I liked the concept of you being locked up in that room. But since you constantly had to leave that room through that hole in the bathroom the claustrophobic feeling I was hoping for really didn't work out for me ^^ I expected something a little more restrictive...

@ ciega

Hah! So I wasn't the only one! (^_^)v
It wasn't the character that scared me a little, it was the character design... I knew that E.T. was really sweet. It was more like something along the lines of what if he had some friends at home that weren't all that nice...? ^^“

I was a weird kid. I watched every single horror movie there was on TV. No kidding. Stuff like Poltergeist, Shining, Alien, Freddy Krueger, Psycho, Halloween, all of the Stephen King stuff, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Army of Darkness, all of those Zombie and Vampire movies, Frankenstein, all of it. I'm not saying this to sound cool but those never gave me nightmares or scared me.
But I found E.T. creepy. ^^
And Chucky scared me shitless! I hated that puppet!!!!
It wasn't the movies. I was the puppet! That face and those little steps he made running through the house. THAT was scary... Even now I can't really stand him...
So if you wanna give me a heart attack – throw a Chucky puppet at me in the middle of the night! ;)

Hmm, I never really had any problems with scary films as a child, maybe because my mother's always been watching horrors in the next room. The only thing I vaguely remember being scared by was one of the scenes from The Lost, with that fat guy driving into an ocean or something.

Anyway, how's everyone doing? Waiting fourth hour at the train station, since the railroad operators didn't bother with writing on their site that most of trains were cancelled today. Got around 80 minutes left, sitting on the ground since all the seats were taken :_;

Thanks! Well, at the very least a bunch of annoying kids that were taking up most of space is gone, which means I have somewhere to sit.

Well, at the very least it's cold in here, plus I have a way of practicing my Russian, since there's a few Russians sitting next to me.

One concept of horrors I cannot stand is being stuck in an elevator. Let's just say that personal experience has contributed to that.

Glad you enjoyed it :D I personally liked it for being one of the few new-age slasher films, and because of the Blood Widow herself :> also, that pic actually really does looks like her.

Being stuck in an elevator doesn't exactly sound nice but movies revolving around that were always pretty boring...
Luckily it never happened to me before.
For how long were you trapped back then...?

@ Rina

Most actors were so fucking bad that it started being funny at some point.
Especially that Asian dude was extremely stupid ^^
Best friend you could have during a massacre ;)
Guarantees getting you killed...

Why? What went wrong today?

Roughly an hour? The worst thing was that after that time it has started to descend rapidly.. thankfully, after 2 floors the safety mechanism has kicked in, but little Galich didn't know what a safety mechanism is back then. It happened more than 12 years ago, and since then I've used elevators less than 5 times.. I'd seriously much rather go up on the 7th floor by feet than use any elevators..

@Tina what happened?

Sounds like a story from a horror movie... Hope that'll never happen to me... (^_^“)

@ Rina

Sane, maybe... But not very helpful either ^^

Well... of course that would make you feel bad... but you didn't do it on purpose, so it's not your fault.

Semi-related to being stuck in a room, have you tried any of The Room series for iOS/Android? They're probably the best puzzle-related games I've seen on a tablet, which turns out to be an amazing platform for "physical" puzzles like this. The atmosphere is great too, and there are some really clever mechanics.

@Anon99 it's funny, I'm easily scared, but I've never considered E.T. as scary... actually it's a very adorable scene where E.T. is clad in a dress^^

@Galich oh, probably it's not your day today, but you know how to get the most of it :) did you enjoy practicing Russian? and your story - it gave me the goose bumps... :(

@Rina oh, as you described it, it doesn't sound as your fault really, and you have the good intentions towards them. it's more like bad coincidence. :) so don't blame yourself too much :)

@OriginalGengar, I play Overwatch with Japanese voices cause Romi Park voices Pharah in the game. Romi Park voiced such characters as Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist and Loran Cehack from Turn A Gundam. Now Yoshiko Sakakibara is voicing Ana. Yoshiko Sakakibara voiced Haman Karn in Zeta Gundam and Gundam ZZ. So now I have no reason to play in English if in Japanese I can listen to two of my favorite voice actresses. :V

But maybe I'll look into that, thanks for the tip! ^^b

And that scene was adorable... adorably scary... ;P

@ ChocolateCakeLover

That's why I only eat twice a day.

@Blackkitty well, I'm trying to look at the bright side of life, even if the final effect is meh :P

Yup, I really like Russian language, learnt Cyrillic alphabet before my first lesson of that language.

Hope I didn't scare you that much V:

Well, I'm at the destination already, everything went rather smoothly past the fact that the book that ive taken with me was meh. Also, I'll have to prolong the time here by a few hours, coming back late instead of early in the morning.
