To be completely honest, this pairing doesn't seem too far-fetched. (My information may be exaggerated because it's been years since I last watched the original im@s) Haruka and Miki are shown to be rivals; aiming for the same goal, which is to become a Super Idol (Hyper Idol? Mega Idol? Top Idol? I forgot). Miki has even shown hostility to Haruka because of how 'Darling' sees too much potential in her. This could be interpreted as her becoming possessive of her possession (the Producer). No, it SHOULD be interpreted that way. But we're idiots. We hate the Producer. Therefore we put him out of the equation.
Anyway, Miki views Haruka as her Rival and Haruka, though reluctant, chases her goal not really knowing why Miki's so worked up. I mean, Miki's practically leagues better than her in all aspect. Miki should've known that Haruka's no match for her. But no. I think that Miki viewed something; something the Producer saw in Haruka. She knew of Haruka's potential and therefore, she marks Haruka (hah, geddit? she's a cat in this picture) as her Rival and as they help each other grow, she also gets to see firsthand how Haruka becomes a beautiful butterfly. And if you've done a lot of fangirling over idol groups, Rivals are meant to be SHIPPED cough AtsuYuu cough
I don't remember much from the Movie, but I think I recall Miki viewing Haruka as their leader unconditionally. She probably viewed her as someone who could lead them when things go wrong. You know what the leader does? The same thing the Producer does. You know who Miki loves? The Producer. You know what happened to the Producer? He left. Now who could possibly replace the Producer's Job? The Leader. Haruka can take over the Producer's role, physically, and emotionally, supporting everyone. Heck she could even be the bunt of Miki's unconditional love because the she now leads the pack. I know it's a long stretch, but it has more likelihood of happening than, say, Ritsuko and Miki- wait.......... Holy crap that pairing seems too likely.
And remember that movie in the movie? The scene where Haruka and Miki were fighting and then Chihaya butts in and joins forces with Haruka? It could be interpreted to represent their relationship. Perhaps since long ago Miki and Haruka has a... thing. Something that only the two of them shared. It's perhaps something like confidantes, or as I've said before, a rivalry that only the two knew about. You could view it in three ways. The first way is ChiHaruka trying to kick Miki off of her throne or Chihaya picked Haruka over Miki, but the other one though, is that Chihaya forced her way into Haruka and Miki's bond. She stayed together with Haruka, meaning that the reason she barged into their relationship was because of Haruka. That's saying that Miki and Haruka was a thing but Chihaya budged in and kicked Miki in the ass while laughing in an almost Iori-kinda way. What was Chihaya and Haruka's most famous relationship? Their love for each other. Why would Chihaya want to defeat Miki? Because she was in the way. Why was she in the way? Because. MIki. Loved. Haruka!
Case Closed.
[p.s NekoMiki being alluring and Haruka being confused is practically their relationship in a nutshell and I just bloody realized I ranted for way too long wtf am I even doing.]
