a little confused by this one, neither of their reactions at the end make sense to me. I got the sense Riri knew what was going on the whole time and Mayu didn’t, but the ending makes it seem like the opposite? Can’t tell if that’s intentional or I’m reading between the lines too much.

Neither knew when they had the picnic.
Page 11 panel 1: Mayu asks informant-chan why class is canceled.
" panel 2: Informant-chan tells Mayu why in secret.
" panel 3: Mayu is surprised at this information.
" panel 4: Mayu gives in to nervous laughter. Riru asks why.
" panel 5: Mayu informs Riru.
Page 12: Riru is shocked and joins in on the nervous laughter.

I think laughing like that isn't that unusual of a shock reaction to learning you just had a picnic under a damn dead body. Life is so weird, isn't it. And informant-chan just likes a juicy rumor no matter what, I suppose.

This definitely has more "Dark" than "Humor", for my taste. But, I appreciate that they went this far for Halloween.

Also, the ending kind of plays out like a Family Guy bit. "Hey Brian, you remember that ghost we saw by the haunted tree, while picnicking? Yeah, turns out it was just an actual dead person who hanged themselves." "What!?" "What are you freaking out for? We get a whole day off! It's like the time Meg got a week vacation at the hospital, after swallowing all those pills."

I mean they do picnicked and flirted under a "hanging ghost" before learning that that was an actual corpse, so (shrug)

When I saw the girl's feet dangling behind their heads in a few panels, I knew where this was going. The way they were presented were in a way that I feel a ghost story wouldn't linger on that as much? It's those panels of forcing you to look at the body again, reminding you that it exists. That it's real. That she is real.
