I was surprised too since I watched the movie, twice, in Japanese, and while I knew she had moved in from the countryside I didn't recall her having an accent at all.

Her kansai accent comes up in Japanese fanfics every once in a while, so I'm guessing it was a thing in the light novel? I haven't finished reading it yet though so I can't say so for sure.
