Maintain a long distance relationship while split up, and then get back together in the future. If they're already licking icecream off each other in public and making out, going home and having shower sex, they can make it work lol
Even if that's already their plan, long-distance relationships suck and it's completely natural to dread the day.
Oh yeah I'm not saying it'll be easy or that they shouldn't feel anxious about it. From how I read the story it felt like this is their final summer together and then their relationship will be over once summer ends, moving on to completely separate lives. So what I'm saying is that I think with how close they already clearly are that they can make a relationship work until they're united again. It won't be easy but I think there's options for staying together, and I believe in a happy future for their life as a couple!
