Shiori lost her first love but she gained the courage to assert herself and not constantly self-sacrifice. I count that as a happy end, in the long-term at least.
That is a positive view on the situation, which I do appreciate, thanks. Though in this regard I would still like a sequel where we get to see her use newly that gained courage to find a happy relationship, I need to see those long-term results haha

This was my take on it as well. Glad others read it that way. Personally I kind of disagree with adding the angst tag, because Shiori voiced her feelings, and, despite it being a lousy situation, she took something positive and forward-looking out of it.
I think the angst
tag is still appropriate since it is a pretty bittersweet oneshot as a whole. But yeah I wouldn't call it a tragedy or anything. Both girls ended up making each other better and stronger people, even though they can't be together anymore.
