That is a very fitting way to have mayakuro, I gotta say.

Finished the light novel (vol1) of this yesterday, and it's really nice. So glad the author ended up involved in a manga. One of the few yuri stories that even mention the word "homosexual".

I wonder how long it'll take until we'll see the boyish Manaria in the manga. She certainly will be fun :)

1000 more pages or riot.

lesbians aside I've always found something kinda disturbing about the whole "morals committee" thing. recruiting kids to actively hunt down and squash other kids' attempts to express their individuality, for little more than a feeling of superiority over their peers? feels kinda, well, dystopian, yeah?

Personally, I think indoctrinating children by making them recite a pledge of allegiance every single day is way, way more dystopian than enforcing order and discipline in a school, but you do you.

The pledge of allegiance stuff is so incredibly creepy and cultish that, as a kid, I thought it was a parody/not meant literally, because surely, in the country of ~freedom~ the movies always praised, such a thing could never happen.

Ah, childish naivity.

The casual sexism ruined the mood

Same for me. Jeez, author and Miku both seemed so unhinged.

Cryssoberyl correct as usual, what a surprise.

But indeed, my first thought at this was indeed "Is this a Yamibo fanfic". Except the setting is a bit more mysterious. I suspect there are at least two Chihayas... though I suspect it's actually three!

Hairband one, no hairband one, and mask one.

If u look like that ofc u gonna get sexually harassed

Neeko might as well carry a gun with that face and bod

Found the incel still angry that women avoid him like the plague. What a tragic, self caused fate.

How is this a filler chapter? it's character development. Not every story is done in 5 chapters, people.

"We will protect the revolution" what kind of Marxist superhero show is that?

Never google "Utena" or your fragile worldview will be shattered like a tear gas cylinder being dropped into ice-cold water [Don't do that at home, kids].

This proves that non-Kuromaya ships are viable in this fandom. Highly adorbs :)

Sorry, you are the weirdo who just equated a need to control to heteronormativity, I'm not sure I can take you seriously lol

Must take some effort to be so thoroughly embarassingly wrong.

It's not just that Cryssoberyl's comment was entirely correct to begin with. It doesn't take a genius to understand the clear link between 'control' and 'heteronormativity', since the most heteronormative relationship, according to creepy dudes, is one where a man controls a woman. Where the woman is innocent and pure and clueless and pretty much a child, while the dude is the adult that holds all the cards, and has to "protect" said woman from herself.

Now, what were the criticisms of this chapter about again? Oh, right, exactly that very topic. Who'd have thought?
Still cracking me up that the Hyperfan-Defensesquad thought "B-but kase is the mom and yamada the wee kid" actually helped matters, lol.

Can you stop mistake abuse for overproteciveness ?

Can you stop being unable to identify basic red flags that any normal person immediately sees?

A simple thing to do is to see their relation as a Mom/Daughter one.

You probably don't realize it, but you used a far more damning description of Yamada and Kases relationship than I ever would have. And that's supposed to be a defense? Yikes.
You've just done more to damn the ship than ten paragraphs of me could ever have done. Well done.

I mean, go on describing Yamada/Kase as this deeply unhealthy, broken ship that you just described them as! Me, I'd rather describe it as a normal ship by an author that is clumsy at writing things and sometimes delivers bad pages. Has a nicer result, personally, but to each their own.

Can Kase please stop this "don't wear this" stuff. The observation that it reads as abusive isn't exactly a stretch, and it's always marring these chapters. It's the kind of thing that results in "dump him" relationship advice for a good reason.

It'd be fine if it was intended as drama and something the characters seriously need to work on, but it's clearly meant as a joke. Which is really worse. It's the equivalent of adding a bit of moldy bread to salad. Sure, the rest of the salad tastes great, but that one bite/page sure is not good. :P

I uh, don't approve of using supernatural powers for petty revenge.

Indeed, I too view it as a HORRIBLE thing that the monster killing badass is not perfectly polite to random bullies, which would be a completely in-character thing for her. Why, she should have apologized to them for not doing their work for them!

What a complete monster.

I hope those being very, very concerned about the evils of "fujoshi fetishizing" would not be the same people reading manga like "Watashi ni Tenshi ga Maiorita!". The lack of self awareness that would display would be staggering.

Cute idea of the manga. Shame it's involving a schoolgirl, if both characters were adults it'd be a lot better.

Whoa, 99% sure she just killed that guy. 100% sure he is maimed for life if not. Either way, I think it's fine, but...

What but? Taking out the trash is fine.

Seems like a fine manga. Woman wants sex, seeks out someone, that someone turns out to be a woman, and then they have sex and hook up.

Entirely normal, adult behavior, in other words, and consequently something that is exceedingly rare to find in manga.

The sex itself was tropy and very silly, but hey, the stuff around it was good.

Too much irrationally for my taste.

There certainly is a ton of irrationality in posts like this. Guys have so many hangups about sex (or rather: about women), it's really kinda laughable, especially when they then go on and on about "rationality" to justify their weird hangups.

Lighten up!

Interesting read. Let me predict the forum reaction:

Nene will be utterly demonized, and people will outright ignore the toxic stuff other people keep piling on her in the manga, which certainly could never harm anyone or cause self loathing.Naaah!

The Sempai, on the other hand, whose nasty manipulations are text will be barely mentioned, even when she is directly responsible for the attitudes of multiple characters, and their pain.

Poor Nene, poor Amane. That Sempai needs to be dunked into the next river, head first.

[Also, err, since when are you only allowed to break-up with people after giving mountains of reasons`? Sometimes people don't work out. Saying so is not a crime. Holy Maria-sama Watching Tie Adjustments, people.]

In this kind of yuri story where the point is to see if&how the 2 girls will become a couple

This may be shocking to you, but to some people, this is not the point. Quite the opposite, this is the start when things actually get interesting.

Interesting manga! I loved when the car crashed through the wall, and the exposition dump, while silly, isn't that big a deal. Neat setup.

What "slur" is everyone talking about? I didn't notice anything.

People going SJW over the word gypsy.

Rule of thumb: If it's an insult used by people supporting the nazis in 1940 to describe a group of people the nazis were exterminating, while that group uses a different name for themselves, it's a slur.

If that is a "SJW" distinction, then SJW, as usual, just means "normal person", even if that makes nazis very angry. :)

Mind, gypsy (or gypped) is generally a slur that mostly shows the one using it is not very bright. The entire term comes from Europeans thinking that Romani were from Egypt.

Way I took that hallucination where little Sayaka picked up little Touko was that it was a moment of personal integration for Touko.

Just wants to point out that this scene is specifically a reference back to this

A lot of people claiming Sayaka doesn't have all the pieces are missing crucial details like this one, I feel. Nakatani seems to be way too subtle for a lot of people with details like this.

Would have helped to have the 'foiled rape attempt' tag, to be honest.

Filed a tag request. Not condemning people that like it or anything, but it's definitely there (page 13-14, specifically), and the tag is vague enough to not spoil what is going to happen, because it could be from another delinquent, or the delinquent saving, etc. Then people can be better prepared reading this - or avoid if they so choose.

That way, everyone wins, nobody loses anything.

And that's what happens when you don't communicate. Oh well, I'm thinking they won't get over their feelings and it'll end up being a story of gay boys :)

Edit: oh nvm, i just noticed it's the same author of nanashi no asterism so their feelings will be in limbo forever and will end up with het pairings.

Huh? Nanashi ended with het pairings?

If someone throws a fit because they involuntarily read an incest story on a site full of porn, they only have themselves to blame.

Isn't it a bit silly to throw a fit just because others prefer being informed?

If there were a way to hide tags, or certain classes of tags, that would solve the spoiler issue as well, and I recall someone floating the idea a while back.

There could simply be two categories of tags one can set for a story (as in, two fields for tags, instead of one), some marked as spoilers, some not.
One category only gets displayed when a profile option to display them is on. If it is off (and it'd be off by default, to appease people that get angry if they get spoiled), you'd not see them, and thus not even know there are spoiler tags.
That'd be relatively easy to implement, too.

Those of us that would prefer actually useful tagging can then use tags like they are meant to be used - to categorize and as content warnings - and those mainly concerned about spoilers can also get their wishes met.

Seems to be a compromise with no losers, aside the person needing an hour to add some fields and checkboxes.
