The animation in the show is so weird. I get the impression that there really aren't very many (or any) experienced animators who know about antics, slow in/slow out and so forth. They just boot up Flash or Harmony or whatever, feed in the key frames and let the machine do all the rest. So it all ends up really mechanical and abrupt looking.

I heard it was done by a small studio, and they have been improving the animation a little with each episode.

I'm not sure if animation got less horrible, or I just got used to the quality...

But yeah, you kinda need to get over the first episodes, they give the worst impression. Especially that very first scene of chasing...

Quality aside, it's surprisingly enjoyable.

The anime quality is great.

Nothing directly yuri, but a loooot of subtexty moments. Saku x Nina feels semi-canon, the younger girls even want to pair them up. Kon x Chiya is more subtle, but they have their moments.

Having just read it, I haven't seen any "phobic" or even "rude" contend regarding him. He's not much of antagonist,and he has his own struggles with his grandfather.

If anything, Ren's shown to be very superficial, swooning over him in a female outfit.

Edit: He seems to think that he's a woman (with a man's heart) until he does the genital surgery. This is horrible, transphobic, completely wrong and it just shows what cisgender (non-trans) people think of us.

It looks like it's from Colette's point of view, since she's the one to both say "my" master and call Mel by name. "My" seems out of place.
