On the mahou shoujo side, there are 6 people with La Verità mode enabled, on the evil side there are only 5 people, 2 people don't have La Verità, 1 person has 2 forms of La Verità, Baiser is hacked, and Alice doesn't need La Verità and is also superior to the other side. That's why both sides keep fighting but the mahou shoujo side doesn't win many matches

Honestly, Utena's group has been stronger and better organized from very early on. The main reason why Tres Magia still exist is that Baiser's entire raison d'être is to spank them until they level up. Had she possessed an ounce of true evil overlord ambition, they would all be dead or depowered within a few days.

Seeing the Reaction Guys meme in the manga with nobody commenting on them has made me feel my (Internet) age. C'mon guys, it's only been 20 years...

The maids were funny and won me over at the start.

Kinda ship the mom and her assistant or the tutor or whatever she is.

Adele looks and sounds like something of a spymaster for the Mayers, so setting Lilah up with Eva was probably her plan all along. She definitely ships it, in any case, and this page has made it pretty clear IMO that the whole hire-your-female-childhood-friend-to-take-care-of-you-forever setup is a crossgenerational thing for the women of the Mayers family. Basically, Adele has picked Lilah as her next gen successor in every sense.

"Anyway, after being rejected by my obviously straight best friend, I decided to become a robotics engineer and use my skills to repair an old Iris model I once found. I then proceeded to have lots and lots of gay sex with her."

"After being rejected by my obviously straight best friend, I decided to become an AI rights activist because shitheads who destroy machines because their fragile egos cannot handle the fact that AI can act more human than their emotionally stunted selves at times are no better than folks who impose heteronormativity because they aren't emotionally mature enough to envision relationships between individuals, rather than between socially mandated, rigidly assigned roles."

AI-phobia and homophobia are obviously two very different issues, but the point is that bigotry operates the same way in most contexts.

You cannot win a rat race, so Kayo didn't win, nor did she "escape". She came very close to losing, but then instead transcended it altogether. Escaping means you leave things behind, but Kayo has experienced everything the bank job had to offer her, looked at the one positive thing that it had (meeting Satomi) and said to herself: "I want to build a life around that." And she did, because she is a go-getter.

As much as this last chapter has been focusing on Junko, the second half of the story is really about Kayo abandoning her Want to pursue what she Needs (while Junko doesn't even get so far as realizing that her Need is different from what she Wants).

I feel like Kayo’s “victory” is a little undercut by how much it involves nepotism. Even if she genuinely loves Satomi, just having a rich sugar mommy give you the win because you’re sleeping with her feels a little cheap from a story perspective. It would be like suddenly winning a huge lottery so you don’t have to work anymore. Anyone could win at life if a rich person in a powerful position suddenly fell in love with you and started giving you treats.

I mean, really? It's not about having a sugar mommy. Kayo has always been a super top employee. If she wanted, she could find a job at any company (apart from maybe the bad record she was given unfairily), but Satomi knew both what she was capable of and her situation. She explains her win in life is not given by weath at all (actually, she has a lower-status job now), but by getting out of that crazy workplace.

I think there is also this page to consider: what Kayo is saying here is that life isn't just about who is topping (a.k.a. being the sugar mommy) and who is the bottom, nor just about what you do or don't deserve. It's also about being in the moment with the people you love and who love you for no other reason than they like you. Satomi and Kayo love each other -- will that complicate their professional relationship? Probably. But as long as they see the bigger picture, they will find a way to make it work. That is the whole point of Kayo's character arc.

I love how their friends have 0 faith in tsukushi lol

She's gonna blow it now, for sure. My only hope for a successful confession in this arc is Hinoka busting out her seduction moves and getting Tsukushi to say "I love you, please go out with me" while staring mesmerized at Hinoka's boobs.

EDIT: Also, 1000+ comments!

THERE'S GONNA BE A DRAMA CD.

One of the few kinds of RL drama I approve of. :-)

Ah, so the emperor finally shows that he's a malicious shitlord too.

Nothing that a little palace coup, Edelgard-style, couldn't solve.

"I can taste the junkiness shortening my lifespan."

Gods, I love this manga.

How can this manga be so lewd yet so wholesome?????

It's because it is lewd and risque about sexuality and physicality, but very, very careful and attentive to the emotions of each character.

Wait.

"Magia Cyan"...?

I believe that was something we in the scientific community call "foreshadowing".

Kurumi tried to be smooth for once, but it backfired on her, as usual... Still adorable, though.

Yeah, Empress Dowager is definitely a villain. Catching and snapping a birds neck with one hand is much harder than it looks. The fact that she then uses the same hand to hold Ming Wei's wrist is a power move all in itself. The implications of that scene are... painful to imagine.

Until this page, I have never realized how small Akira actually is, at least compared to Satsuki. She is always so direct and in-your-face that she usually seems taller, i.e. when she is not injured and (even) more vulnerable than normal...

^ The explosion would've happened in a matter of seconds anyway once Seo got over the surprise of the remote device still being attached. Either Miho trusted Satsuki to get out of there alive or she didn't care.

Yea, it's that last part that unnerves me: Miho has never been a good person, even if she did help Satsuki lately, so the ambiguity of whether even cares about the latter's safety makes me uneasy.

Leave it to Akira to delete all of that suicidal ideation from Satsuki's silly little head.

That said, I am not sure how to feel about Miho pulling the trigger on Seo's own trap. On the one hand, Miho got a taste of her own medicine, will likely get all the criminal charges, and Miho was nice enough to let her off with a light concussion. On the other, Satsuki (and Akira, but Miho didn't know that) was still inside the gym, so Miho willingness to pull the trigger is a bit unnerving.

Well Makino isn't an adult and even then that wouldn't be a Yuri element

The manga start near the end of high school, with college entrance exams. And then we have people wondering if Makino is taking a 'gap year', and I recall no mention of school or classes outside cram school, so I think Makino is 18 now.

Yeah, I think Makino is legally an adult at this point, but she was still financially dependent on her parents until recently.

I am guessing the correct way to deal with the curse and solve the time travel plot is for Elsa and Yvonne to split the curse between them.

Share the neural load, so to speak. I'm pretty sure the two of them are drift compatible...

I never knew how badly I wanted a Pacific Rim-Please Bully Me Miss Villainess crossover until today.

I mean, if Elsa and Yvonne got into a Jaeger, it would solve their endless demon army problem in the present.

I've been fine with Junko being a violent jerkass to Kayo while it was just the two of them flirting with each other. Now that she starts to involve Satomi and Yoshiko in her schemes, I cannot help but start detesting her...

Isn't this, like, the biggest "f*ck off" to Makino's mom the two of them could have delivered? She gets Mashiro fired... and Mashiro just doesn't care, and instead gets to work directly with Makino. Sure, a waitress is not nearly as good a job as a tutor, but Mashiro does not seem to have ever cared about work prestige, anyway, has she?

Huh, it seems like Obsidian and Yu have met at least twice before: when Yu was a kid, Obsidian threw her off a cliff, then met her again when Yu was, maybe, 10 and killed Father William. Her dialogue here implies that either both times, or just in the latter situation, Obsidian had gotten quite emotionally vulnerable with Yu, possibly using her to get to William, her true mark. Yu's over-the-top violence may be thus viewed as (though not excused by) the anger of a deeply hurt serial ex.

My guess is that Obsidian is an assassin for the (criminal) underworld, albeit a reluctant one judging by Yu's second flashback of William's death. Her memories appear to be wiped clean after every hit, allowing her to blend back into the society as a lowly succubus. I do not think that Yu was her actual mark when she threw her off a cliff, otherwise she would make sure she was dead. Rather, I speculate that both times, Obsidian was actually protecting Yu, but "disposing" of a witness in a way that she was sure to survive. Of course, we'd have to wait and see if any of the above resembles the author's plot.
