Honestly very glad for your interpretation cuz I also had no idea what to think at first. I honestly thought the BDSM was way more tame than the tags suggested. I interpreted Soyo's reluctance to let go of those good memories to be about control alongside her grief like you mentioned. She feels out of her depths and wants Anon to physically and mentally bind her up so she can feel put together. I didn't find it to be sexy at least (especially when at first it seemed like Anon was going full yandere and kidnapping Soyo). Honestly love works that explore BDSM to be more than just sexy times.
