Yes. VERY long story short, the dark haired one is a reclusive (somewhat naive) moon god, the dead one a robot. Both were part of a semi-villainous faction (it's complicated), Sandrone is a massive egotistical tsundere, Columbina would annoy Sandrone just by being herself, eventually they had a "we're not friends" friendship to the point that Sandrone would complain that Bina would drop in on tea parties despite making the tea knowing it'd be "invaded". Fast forward to the present, Bina had left the organization, a manhunt set up, Sandrone on her trail, and an even more egotistical mad scientist was after her for her powers and those of the previous moon goddesses to control the world. His actions led to a confrontation to save Bina and Sandrone was killed in the final act of the process.
