Oh thank goodness, I'm not the only one who felt that way. I absolutely hate it when I read a story, and wonder what the hell was that all about. Then I go to the comments, and everybody is gushing about how good the story was.

You're not alone. I think generally understood what the author was going for but it wasn't my cup of tea really, as it's mostly artsy angst imo.

Still I appreciate the translation, and I enjoy the art so I hope to see more from this mangaka.

Title, scales, married to her cousin, might disappear entirely at the end, MC is bewitched by her... I think she's meant to be a real mermaid that has to go home when she can't maintain her appearance anymore.
