As a kid in the 70's all I heard was how nobody made passes at girls who wore glasses, and I thought that was crap cause I remember ALL the women on Charlie's Angels wore glasses at some point and they were ALL fine as frog's hair with or without them. To be fair, 70s eye wear was inexplicably thick-framed. Not exactly flattering in my book. Later decades certainly put in work to making spectacles more fashionable. (But then I hate having to wear a pair myself - with one eye still loyal, I might unironically try a monocle one day.)
