Ok, sorry. I should start actually reading tag descriptions before suggesting them.

The site uses it for characters, like Crona from Soul Eater and Hange from AoT, that are never gendered in source material (Because of the way Japanese handles, or rather doesn't handle, third-person pronouns, this is feasible).
A quick check on Wikipedia's page for Project Sekai says that Mizuki is one such character.
