It's maybe slightly high for private tutoring in the US, but within range, at least from a quick websearch. (Ranges given by different pages as 15-50, 15-70, 15-125...)
It'd be low for sex work but hey, if she's enjoying it...
As for being good money, it's $20,508/year at the current exchange rate. In PPP (more relevant for paying rent, food, and bills), 2021 dollar was 97 yen, so 200,000 yen/month is $2061, or $24,732 a year. Good step up for a "broke student" but not rolling in dough. Maybe she can use the reference to get more tutoring gigs, though.
