I didn't get that from this at all personally. The way I view this story is that, when your partner goes out to spend the day with a friend, it can get a bit lonely being home alone, which I think is entirely normal. So it didn't seem like dependency, more just that she wanted to comfort her girlfriend and enjoy their time together in the morning, before going out and spending the day with someone else. Which again seems like a pretty normal relationship to me.

Yuri doesn't have many people she's close to. Mako and Tomoko are the main ones. If you're shipping her, Mako's a good choice. Mako has a lot more ships - Yoshida, Minami, Tomoko.
